Commentaire : Voilà un bien curieux récit initiatique, dont le héros bien sympathique vit dans un univers étrange aux origines ressemblant singulièrement au récit de la Genèse. Il y est question de rupture d'Alliance, de chute, et d'une promesse mystérieuse, dont le contenu non révélé donne l'impression que l'histoire n'est pas finie...et aucune suite n'est annoncée ! Par ailleurs, les aventures sont parfois très impressionnantes, et Ombre doit faire preuve de beaucoup de courage. On apprend de nombreux détails sur la vie et les moeurs des chauve-souris.

Biographie de l'auteur
Kenneth Oppel wrote his first novel at the age of 15, and enterprisingly sent it to his favourite writer, Roald Dahl. Publication soon followed, and since then he has written more than a dozen books, including an adult novel, THE DEVIL'S CURE, and the bestselling SILVERWING saga, for which he has won many prizes in his native Canada. He now lives and works in Toronto with his wife and two children. (20021108)
