w books are as eagerly awaited as the next in the Stephanie Plum series, and here 'tis - SIZZLING SIXTEEN. Of course, it wouldn't really be Stephanie unless her voice is that of Lorelei King who seems to not only be more at home but better and better with each successive narration of the Plum stories (this is the 14th to be read by the award-winning voice performer.)
As Publishers Weekly once said of King's Plum readings, "King enhances the humor of this series so much that Evanovich fans should consider putting down that book and plugging in the Cd player instead."
AudioFile wrote, ".....relax and enjoy Evanovich's tight writing and King's amazing reading..."
Yep, it's unanimous - King's narration of the Plum series is the ultimate in listening pleasure, so treat yourself and listen as Stephanie, office manager Connie, and file clerk Lulu try to raise a pile of cash to save Vinnie (of Vincent Plum Bail Bonds). As readers of this series know by now Vinnie is not perfect, and his imperfections came to the fore when he ran up a gambling debt of $786,000. That's bad enough but even worse when the money is owed to mobster Bobby Sunflower who is holding Vinnie until the debt is paid.
According to the reasoning of Stephanie, Connie and Lulu, if they can find Vinnie it'll give them some time to raise the needed money. Well, finding him is one thing - keeping him out of harm's way is quite another. You don't mess with Bobby Sunflower!
Do you suppose a mammoth yard sale will raise enough money? And, if it does which means Stephanie can resume being a bounty hunter just who will she have to chase down now?
Fans needn't worry Joe Morelli, the best looking cop in Trenton (maybe even the whole state) is on hand as is security expert Ranger.
Enjoy!
