Présentation de l'éditeur

For the most part, we all know that we need sleep to survive and function properly. Children especially need plenty of sleep to help their growing bodies. Growing brains need their rest as well. While asleep our brains process and store information, replace depleted necessary chemicals which help us think faster and solve problems.

When you don't get enough sleep you are moody and ill-tempered, a child will also be cranky and always in crying mode. This can cause quite a problem for you or your child as your child may find himself uncomfortable, poorly rested and not quite adapted to the ideal schedule you have set for him/her.

In this book I will walk you through the best strategies to help your child get just the right amount of sleep. We will talk about how much is the right amount of sleep for each age starting from birth till your child is in school age and what are the best strategies for each stage of his early life.

Sleep is also crucial for growth to the immune system. So, if your child doesn't get the right amount of sleep they won't develop properly which can lead to even more problems at school, and your child may also find themselves getting ill often. If they are ill this can cause a vicious and retrogressive cycle since being ill is not exactly conducive to sleep.

Help your child and help yourself by learning the proper sleep cycle he/she should follow. This way you will have a well rested, immune boosted, intelligent child that’s aware when awake, and rests well when he/she sleeps.. Let’s get started!

This is more a short summary of anything you already read on the internet or any magazine rather than a book.

It was Just basic sleep facts. No help for actually putting a baby to bed or Techniques. Did not help me at all.

This reference guide is the perfect fit for new Moms and expectant ones. It includes specific details on how your baby’s behavior and general health may be influenced by sleep duration, naps, sleep schedules, and sleep regularity. The author, Ms. Heldrich assembled a easy-to-understand guide to help you to monitor your baby’s development and to know when a doctor or other professional is recommended. I thought that the tips on sleep strategies related to soothing techniques and best sleep practices were the most beneficial. The most important reason to get this book is because it takes some of the anxiety off of an expectant or new mother and is one less thing to worry about when you bring your new bundle of joy home. For the veteran moms, this book is also great because as a teacher, I can probably attribute some of my students’ behavior and cognitive functioning to unhealthy sleep. Parents can read this book to gain some knowledge on how sleep can affect the overall health and well being of their child.

In the book sleep like a baby I read a lot of useful information and I liked it because it breaks down information for all ages on sleeping. I don’t
have a baby of my own but I have nieces and nephews that stay with me. I think every child goes through stages with nightmares and it makes it
hard to deal with them. My 3 year old niece is going through night terrors right now. Adults need sleep but most new parents have a hard time
sleeping with a newborn baby in the house. Every kid has something they sleep with and it helps them sleep. Every person that deals with babies to
adults should read this book. There is a lot of very useful information in this book

What a great comprehensive guide to sleep for children! This covers sleep for infants, but also talks about sleep issues for older children too.

Topics such as pacifiers, co-sleeping, getting dads involved, colic, security blankets, teething, naps, SIDS, nightmares, bedwetting, sleepwalking, hyperactivity, self-soothing, disruptions to the family schedule, illnesses, allergies and more are all covered, with an emphasis upon using the tips, but in ways that fit with your family and schedule.

This is one of those 'must-have' books for every parent's bookshelf. This would make a great gift to new parents and a handy reference guide throughout the child's development. This book has a very comforting, encouraging tone that is sure to reassure new parents.
