Fantastic! 14 novembre 2013

Dear Dads, good luck.

I mean, if you want to break your daughter's heart by not letting her give you a mani-pedi, go ahead, be my guest. Of course, if you get one, you'll feel like a 1000 bucks!

Note that this kit is not a salon. This is a kit. A fun toy. If you are expecting the entire salon experience complete with "real" sizes, then you will be disappointed. The sizes are adequate for children. There is just enough to do this several times. I'd consider getting it for sleep-overs and birthday parties, etc...

As far as how it works, it does fine. My 4 and 11 year old loved it. My 11 year old even primped her nails for school - and you know how judgmental 6th grade girls are.

It is a real kit, so be weary about stains and the such. It is just a kid's kit (size wise).

Not a Big Hit 29 septembre 2013

My daughter and I were a bit disappointed with this kit. First off the nail polish is super tiny. But also it has a different sort of smell to it. It kind of reminds me of glue. It is also somewhat clear and leaves just a slight lavender tint to your fingernails which didn't really look that pretty. Perhaps a slight pink tint would have looked a little "healthier." (The purple tint made me think of hands that are way too cold.) Anyways, she only did a few nails and then wiped it off. It didn't seem like regular nail polish and neither of us liked the hue.

Next is the lotion it comes with. It was not easy to open and it also was not pleasant in smell. It reminded me of special "unscented" lotionals made for sensitive skin or something. You know how sometimes those have a slight, sort of almost medicinal scent to them? Or like the smell of Phisoderm facewash. But you are suppose to add some "pretty" fragrance to it that the kit comes with and some color dye. Neither of us liked the smell of the fragrance. And I don't understand why we'd want to put artificial dye in a nice pure white lotion. When I opened the fragrance, the top/dropper part came right out with the cap and spilt a bit, so that was not thrilling. We didn't bother trying to open the dye.

The one thing my daughter had fun with was the Crystal Mud. It is in a bottle and looks almost like pink sand or pop rocks. You mix a small amount with water and it turns into a sort of slushy gel to soak your fingers and fingernails in. My daughter had fun with this, and also again when her friend came over. It does have a neat, relaxing feel to it. And there is enough to make it a few more times. And my daughter kept the nail buff that comes in the kit. But that was it. Everything else was disappointing. You could have more fun going to the dollar store or drug store and buying a bottle of regular nail polish and small tube of hand lotion in a scent of your choice and putting it in a little dollar store basket or gift bag.

An In- Home Spa for Girls 7 octobre 2013

A reasonably priced means for fun, the SpaLaLa Mani and Pedi Kit turns any home into a girlie spa. It comes complete with a bottle of polish, bath salt, crystal mud, a measuring spoon, and all of the other essentials for nail enhancement.

My girls love to do their nails and they were thrilled beyond words when they opened the package in the mail one day and found this inside. They love the pampered treatment of a manicure and pedicure and once they saw this, they opened the box and dived right in. The kit has all of the necessary items for preparation, polishing, and more and most all young girls will find it has what they need for nail- accenting fun. There is even a cucumber lotion and mud bath, making it just like an actual spa.

This kit does come with only a single bottle of polish, but when you consider the price, it really is a good value. There is enough here for multiple treatments and kids can, if they like, introduce other accessories and colors from mom's make-up cabinet. Mine have used this so much that the original polish is gone, but they still use the included accessories and just borrow some of mom's polish as needed.

Little girls love to make their nails look pretty and this kit has what they need for an evening of simple entertainment and girlieness. The price is right and the smiles are wide, and that is more than enough to recommend this for anyone with young girls.

My 9 Year Old Loves It! 2 novembre 2013

My nine year old loves pampering herself with this set! She was thrilled to mix up the lotion and had no problem with the little bottles when she opened them and added the fragrance and dye on her own. It doesn't smell like Bath and Body Works cucumber melon, well, actually, it doesn't smell like cucumber melon at all, but she loved it anyway and boasts that it makes her skin so soft. She found the crystal mud to be fun and relaxing. I made sure that she remember the instructions about never pouring crystal mud down the sink since it can clog drains.

The only dislike she had about this set was that the teeny bottle of nail polish didn't have a consistency like real nail polish at all. Also it doesn't go on purple. It shows up almost clear on your nails. So, other than the nail polish being a flop, she is loving this set! I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this set as a gift for a 8 to 10 year old girl.

Daughter loves it 30 août 2013

My daughter (12) lit up when she received this. She tore it open and started in. It gives you the "gel" crystals to prep your nails, similar to orbeez (but much finer in texture), a bath salt container to shrink the gel and further prep your nails, a 4-sided emory pad, some lotion, and a couple of small vials of nail polish.

As a parent, I like that this isn't a 1-and-done activity set. There's enough of everything to do it multiple times, so from that aspect it seems like a decent value. The lotion only has one scent, and you mix it once then put it back into the container. I'd say the only thing you'd want more of is nail polish, but most girls seem to have plenty of that.

My daughter loved how "smooth" it made her nails and was showing them off for days afterwards. Although it doesn't look like much when first opened, I feel like you get your money's worth, and the products included are a pretty good compliment to each other.
