Healing for the Open Minded Skeptic! 13 juin 2011
Par Philip J. Magnan - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
Soul Centered Healing is a fine written introduction to a phenomenon (or a model of understanding the human relationship with the universe) I had heard about but had not experienced at the time of initial reading. The reader is advised to take his or her time with this book - no skimming! By its very nature, the content requires temporary suspension of disbelief and time for reflection.

The theory behind SCH holds together in a very consistent fashion, surprisingly so given the dramatic paradigm leap it requires to accept. The author devotes a great amount of time early in the book describing his clinical observations of his clients and tying those observations directly into the SCH model. Despite the clinician's attention to detail, the book is certainly accessible to the lay person.

If only a portion of SCH is true and applicable to those outside Dr. Zinser's growing core of clients (since the 1980s), many, many more individuals who have reached dead-ends with conventional therapies should receive welcome healing if they pursue this fascinating body of knowledge and experience.

an odd but interesting read 20 août 2011
Par G. Goes - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
Soul Centered Healing is an interesting yet strange journey that presents a completely different approach to the delivery of mental health therapy. I'm not sure I can totally accept all of the author's beliefs and theories, but the book is well laid out and the various forces that the author believes prey on our psyches are well defined and presented in detail. Soul Centered Healing can almost be read as a metaphor, although I don't think this was the author's intention. Food for thought, keep an open mind, read it, and think it over...who knows?

Soul-Centered Healing: A Psychologist's Extraordinary Journey into the Realm of Sub-Personalities, Spirits and Past Lives 16 septembre 2011
Par Amazon Customer - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
Every so often a book arrives that opens up new vistas of awareness into the psychological and spiritual nature of who and what we are and the deeper workings of our psyches. One can think of such books as `The Road Less Travelled' by Scott Peck, `Other Lives, Other Selves' by Roger Woolger, `Life after Life' by Raymond Moody and `Journey of Souls' by Michael Newton. Is `Soul Centred Healing' such a book ... probably, although only time can make this judgement? So what makes this book so special?
The book begins with a psychologist opening up in private practice and starting to use a number of well tried techniques such as `Guided Affected Imagery' to help his clients resolve their issues. Some clients benefited whilst others remained obstinately stuck. This `hit and miss' approach continued until a chance meeting led Dr Zinser to begin working with a channelled guide called Gerod that opened up new perspectives and methods of therapy, which immediately began to have a significant beneficial effect on his treatments and the wellbeing of his clients.
As the co-operation continued more layers of the psyche were opened up that included the importance and nature of `Ego states' or `Sub-personalities', created by the mind to help us cope with traumas which, once created, then act like independent beings within us that need to be understood and worked with in order to resolve the issues they hold.
The book goes on to explore such subjects as spirit attachments and invasions and the methods for their release; the nature and activity of evil spirits and their impact on the psyche; the issues that stem from past-lives before coming back to the central core of the book that there is a power within us, which we can all access through our `higher self' and soul consciousness that can resolve all of these problems.
As a working manual it is clear, concise and full of insights in the areas it addresses, although some subjects, such as the significance of ancestral patterns are not covered, these may well have formed a part of Gerod's insights. For those who wish to step over the border of conventional counselling and psycho-therapy into the transpersonal world it should be essential reading.

Moving the field of psychology to a paradign of true deep healing 21 septembre 2011
Par Gregory McHugh - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché Achat vérifié
This book is a great undertaking. Hopefully therapists who deny the presence of past lives and spiritual realms will read this and be persuaded by the author's incredible diligence at demonstrating his awakening into the truth and clinical efficacy of past life therapy and therapy that successfully addresses the presence and impact of deceased human spirits and dark beings, how they interfere with clients and how they can be cleared out, resulting in deep and profound transformation.

An Essential Addition to the Transpersonal Regression Therapy Literature 15 août 2011
Par Michael K. Kivinen - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
"Soul-Centered Healing" is an essential addition to the literature on transpersonal regression therapy. Dr. Zinser presents a transpersonal elaboration and extension of ideodynamic hypnotherapy and ego-state therapy that addresses not only dissociated subpersonalities, but also what purport to be past-life ego-states and spirits. Neither dull clinical tome nor pop paranormality, Zinser's Soul-Centered Healing is arguably an adventure story. In it he discusses his work as a clinical psychologist and the "series of extraordinary events that took my clients and me across the boundaries of ordinary consciousness and enabled us to work at unusually deep levels of mind and soul" (p. 13). He describes his unexpected confrontation with unseen realities and his resulting reorientation of conscious attitude. He emphasizes, however, that these extraordinary events--including paranormal communication with a channeled entity named "Gerod" who functioned essentially, to his clients' benefit, as Dr. Zinser's clinical consultant--are not the book's main concern. Rather, the primary focus is on the model of healing and the cartography of consciousness that developed from that collaboration. Zinser refrains, then, from either sensationalism or a merely personal and autobiographical approach. Instead, he draws the reader into his process of discovery and outlines its therapeutic implications and applications. His writing is clear and succinct but never dry; he possesses an impressive ability to ground the general reader in a basic understanding of trauma-based dissociation, ego state therapy, and hypnosis. He provides relevant, illustrative excerpts from therapy sessions and from his transcribed sessions with "Gerod," along with thoughtful, critical but not tendentious reflections on the mainstream scientific community's resistance to the paranormal. Even those readers who are already familiar with such essential works as Roger Woolger's "Other Lives, Other Selves", Winafred Blake Lucas's "Regression Therapy", and Stanislav Grof's "The Transpersonal Vision: The Healing Potential of Non-ordinary States of Consciousness" will find much startlingly original and eminently useful material here.
