Présentation de l'éditeur

HE WANDERS THE STARS IN SEARCH OF A HOME. INSTEAD, HE GOT A GIRL WITHOUT ONE.

When Jeremiah arrived at Megiddo Station, all he wanted was to make some trades and resupply his starship. He never thought he'd come away with a wife.

Before he knows it, he's back on his ship, alone with his accidental bride. Since neither of them speak the same language, he has no way to tell her that there's been a terrible mistake. And because of the deadly famine ravaging her home, there's no going back. She's entirely at his mercy, and that terrifies him more than anything.

Jeremiah isn't ready to take responsibility for anyone. He's a star wanderer, roaming the Outworld frontier in search of his fortune. Someday he'll settle down, but for now, he just wants to drop the girl off at the next port and move on.

As he soon finds out, though, she has other plans.

STAR WANDERERS: OUTWORLDER is a 15,000 word (40-60 page) novelette set in the Gaia Nova universe one thousand years before the events of BRINGING STELLA HOME. It is the first part in the STAR WANDERERS series, which includes:

OUTWORLDER
FIDELITY
SACRIFICE
HOMEWORLD
DREAMWEAVER
BENEFACTOR

I was looking through free sci-fi Kindle books and I came across this. I was pleasantly surprised. It's about a guy who lives as a trader and vagabond. He comes from a place where the tradition is to leave everything behind and go seek out a new destiny among the stars. I really liked the Biblical analogies; for example, "unworthy" future people getting cast out of a place that was once a paradise (Earth) to wander through space. The future world and the future state of humanity that is described is fascinating. The main character is also pretty interesting, and you really get into his head and what he is going through. Overall, although it was a bit short, it was a fun read, and I'd recommend it!

So, I went into it thinking it was going to be rather like the "Ours Mrs. Reynolds" episode of Firefly, but I came out of it thoroughly intrigued. Everything introduced of the world, the technology, the characters had me hooked almost immediately. Especially the-- ... well, I don't want to spoil it. I'm not a fan of spoiler reviews, so I'll just say, It's worth your investment and your time. Buy it, read it, try it. :D

Jeremiah is a young man, just twenty years of age, but the master of his own star ship. As star ships go the Araidne was small, a single man cargo hualer. At twenty his star ship the Araidne was all, beyond himself that he was comfortable being responsible for. Charting a course for Megiddo station orbiting Delta Oriana he had only one thing on his mind, to make a profitable trade. The moment he stepped onto Megiddo station he knew something was wrong. When he arrived at the station masters office he knew he was in real trouble. The trouble came in the form of the Station Master's five daughters, he had no choice but he had to choose, so he chose the oldest. Now the story begins!
This is a nicely written Sci-fi short, well worth picking up.
