Même si elles existaient déjà avant le développement d'Internet, qui favorise les échanges et la collaboration, a permis la multiplication de structures décentralisées, auto-coordonnées. L'absence de structure directrice clairement identifiée ne nuit pas leur efficacité et contribue à leur robustesse et leur souplesse.
Des réseaux peer2peer à Al Kaida en passant par Wikipedia, les auteurs démontent les mécanismes qui leurs permettent de fonctionner (chap 4), donne des méhodes pour lutter contre ce genre de structures (chap 6) et des recommandations pour tirer partie de ces nouvelles tendances (chap 9). Facile à lire, offrant ce mélange inimitable d'exemples concrets, d'éléments d'analyse théorique et de profession de foi propre aux ouvrages américains, The starfish and the spider apporte un éclairage nouveau sur le fonctionnement des organisations et les évolutions qu'elles connaissent actuellement. Le reprenant deux ans après pour en faire la critique, je constate néanmoins qu'il ne m'a pas laissé des souvenirs très forts. Vous pouvez tout de même le lire si vous êtes en charge d'une structure à (ré)organiser, c'est une bonne source d'inspiration. Aidez d'autres clients à trouver les commentaires les plus utiles
