Awesome music 17 juillet 2005

I must say, being the product of the 70's generation I don't listen to that much music from today's artists. Last thursday I was very fortuate to catch an advance screening of Stealth. The movie was exceptional, and I'm a very critical movie buff. Non-stop action, great plot, and the music was tremendous. Not being familiar with most of the bands, I found myself asking who the heck that was. I enjoyed all of the music in this movie.

Awesome 9 août 2005

This soundtrack is one of the FEW I have found lately that was not only great, but also hit every song I heard on the movie. No "inspired by" tracks. The only problem I had with it is that a couple of the Incubus tracks seem forced into the movie (like in the credits) and don't fit the subject. That doesn't make them any less great to listen to though. Loved it!

Incubus sounds great as ever. Best Song on the album is Cable Car by the Fray. These guys are really talented...They are the next big thing. Two other outstanding tracks were Lost Souls forvever by Kasabian and Bug eyes by Dredge. Highly recomended.

First off I'm not a huge Incubus fan, but heard "Make A Move" on the radio and decided to pick this up. Good decision. The first three tracks are pretty good with Admiration being amazing considering it comes from Incubus. They sound like they may be making music I can get into. Looking forward to their new album whenever that is. Onto they rest of the album.

Tracks 4 and 5 don't fit on this album, though they may be in the movie, they really ruin the mood if you are just listening to it. I never really liked Bush, but Institute's track "Bullet-Proof Skin is good. Not great, but I don't skip it when I'm listening to it in the car. Kasabian's track, as another reviewer already mentioned, is annoying. I like the "Clubfoot" song they have going around, but this track is a skip.

Dredg is awesome. Buy their album. "Bug Eyes" is great, but there are so many others on their new album Catch Without Arms. Definately worth a listen by everyone.

The Fray, Trading Yesterday, and Acceptance all have great songs with Trading Yesterday being the surprise. "One Day" is a really good track. Track 12 is garbage. Skip. The last Incubus song is pretty cool, even though it isn't new, I've never heard this one. It has a weird Asian feel, that is just hypnotic.

Overall a good album. With 9 out of 13 tracks being worthwhile, it is definately worth a listen. The Incubus tracks alone are not worth the price of admission in my book, but the Dredg, Trading Yesterday, and The Fray giving really good tracks as well, this is a definate buy.

Wow, This New Incubus Album Sure Rocks! Wait, What? 14 juillet 2005
Par Andy - Publié sur Amazon.com

The soundtrack for the upcoming "Stealth" is yet another classic case of a rock collection that doesn't exactly sync up with the theme of the movie. For starters, the main attraction here is Incubus, as they make four appearances (three of them being new material!), and their material alone doesn't seem to configure with what I've seen from the previews. Nevertheless, if you're a fan of alternative rock, or just Incubus, this eclectic little collection is worth checking into.

I'm a big Incubus fan, so I had to hear the new stuff. Hell, I wasn't even aware they were recording anything new these days. I figured they were on a break! The three new tracks, although not breaking the mold, are a pleasant surprise. You've probably heard "Make A Move" on the radio, and it's standard Incubus. "Admiration" and "Neither Of Us Can See" are a little different than normal, and seem to make less sense with this movie than any of the other songs. Likewise, "Aqueous Transmission," from their 2001 album, "Morning View," is an especially peculiar choice (albeit, an amazing, underrated song). However, Incubus aren't the only ones making worthy contributions. Dredg's new single "Bug Eyes" is nice to hear on here, as the group has hardly had any promotion in the past. The Fray also fight for what is arguably the best song on here (even better than the Incubus material) with "Over My Head (Cable Car)." You might not know these guys yet, but I get the feeling they are gonna be huge soon. I saw them open up for Weezer this past Tuesday, and let me tell you, they had me hooked from the first note. Very interesting, honest, and emotional pop-rock. Trading Yesterday's track, "One Day," was also another pleasant surprise, but one track that doesn't live up to expectations is Institute's "Bullet-Proof Skin." You may not know it, but this is Gavin Rossdale's (ex-Bush) new group, featuring Chris Traynor of Helmet fame on guitar (and Paige Hamilton, also of Helmet, producing). I wasn't a particularily big Bush fan, but the involvement of Hamilton and Traynor had me intrigued. Sadly, this song is a bust. Also, Kasabian's "L.S.F." is just annoying. Sorry, I just don't understand the big hype with these guys. This song sounds like something Fatboy Slim would do. Pass.

So, overall, a great little collection. If you don't get it for the new Incubus tracks, do it just to hear Dredg and The Fray (if you haven't already). It's quite an eclectic mix, there's something for everyone, really. As far as the movie goes? Eh, not really interested. A plane with a brain? As good as this soundtrack is, it doesn't make me wanna see the movie anymore than I did before.
