Better than Jesus Freak 21 février 2000
Par Digory Kirke - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: CD
This album is awesome, better than even their classic Jesus Freak album. (However, their version of Charlie Peacock's In The Light is still their best song, in my opinion.)
In spite of what some may say, the gospel is not the least bit toned down on this record. Just listen to Consume Me, Red Letters, and Into Jesus. Most other songs are just as obviously Christian if one takes the time to understand the lyrics.
As for the people talking about the song "Consume Me" being Satanic...please, think before you write something so moronic. (Read "A Music Fan from USA"'s review. He'll set you right.) Plus, it would be totally inconsistent with the rest of everything DC Talk is. Your witch hunts are a waste of time and don't help the gospel. No "satanic" album could ever be such an encourager to my faith as this has.
Buy this album. It's on par with the greatest Christian albums out there, up there with the Exodus CD, Caedmon Call's S/T album, Third Day's S/T album, and Fred Hammond's Pages of Life.

I liked it, but I could sense the "Goodbye" in the albums message 19 novembre 2005
Par D. R Hayes - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: CD
I know the kids in the youth group at my church raved about this album probably as much as our parents raved about "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" in the Summer of Love in 1967. It was a good follow-up to "Jesus Freak", but I could sense that something was amiss in this album. I feel that alot of it had to be with the fact that all the band members were in their 30's, and probably yearning something more from God than what was the blessings they were recieving already. I feel that was I got out of it; I was into my 30's, and soon enough I'll be in my 40's. I found that this was the end of Contemporary Christian music as I knew it; I started seeing the writing on the wall when the Insyderz released the album "Skallellujah" that same year of 1998, and began everyone on the wagon of doing nothing but praise and worship songs for albums. I do have a couple of favorites like "Since I Met You", and "Consume Me", but then there were some like "Godsend", and "Into Jesus" that left me very melancholy. I know part of why "Into Jesus" left me that way was the fact that "What Have We Become" got considerable airplay around the time "Into Jesus" was released as the first single. I know that the group broke up on good terms, and that's wonderful, and I pray that their spiritual lives are for the better, but it's taken me 7 years to finally say that this album was like a goodbye to me as well. I know that the music scene isn't as fertile as it was almost 10 years ago, but I have to remember that it's all about Jesus, and not a music style, or music trend, and remember to not knock a certain genre because it sounds old and tired, but appreciate any good songs mixed in.

Clear this up 10 février 2000
Par Un client - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: CD
OK, here's the deal. dc Talk did not say "I'm consumed with Satan" during "Consume Me." If you don't know what I'm talking about, go 8 or 9 reviews down from here and read the one titled "Essential information about this CD and this group." Right after I read it, I put Supernatural into my computer and fast-forwarded to 4 minutes and 3 seconds into "Consume Me" and listened. At that point Michael sings these words: "Oh, I am consumed, I'm consumed with yoooooooooooooou." (emphasis mine) Right when Michael starts the yooooooou, Kevin comes in and sings, in a low, quiet voice,"So let me tell you," and goes on into the "There's no other way I can fly, It's You and I, You and I..." part. I can sort of see how someone looking for a way to discredit the work that God is doing through these three guys could come up with the story that "a music fan from Wisconsin" outlined for us. But, and please forgive me for the ribaldry, it's bulls**t. I won't comment on the Marilyn Manson remarks because I have not read the newspaper article "music fan from Wisconsin" mentioned. But I hope "music fan from Wisconsin's" falsities will not prevent you from purchasing this excellent piece of music.

Great Sound, Great Lyrics 14 janvier 2006
Par S. Peek - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: CD
Supernatural is another great CD by DC Talk. As usual, they have combined superb vocals, great instrumentals, and positive, Christian lyrics.

This CD includes several different genres. Very few groups could pull off such a diverse mix and still have such a fantastic sound. The lyrics are always uplifting and expressely Christian.

There are no bad songs in this collection. There are some that are terrific. I particularly like 'Dive', 'Consume Me', 'Into Jesus', and 'Red Letters'.

If you are not familiar with DC Talk, do yourself a favor and try them. If you are already a fan, but don't have this CD, you will want to get it. 'Supernatural' is another great album to add to any collection. Highly recommended!

Have A Supernatural Experience 15 février 2000
Par Un client - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: CD
This is a CD that has it all, from smooth, radio-friendly songs like "Consume Me" and "Into Jesus" to infectious, highly-energized tracks like "Supernatural" and "My Friend (So Long)". For the romantics out there, there's even a sweet love song ("Godsend") mixed in. This album is marked with passionate vocals and killer hooks that only a person without a pulse could not dance or sing along to. The three members of DC Talk helped write every song, so even with the disparity in musical style from tune to tune, the album still has a way of continuously flowing from beginning to end. It also manages to clearly define DC Talk's faith and joy in Christ without resorting to being preachy. Though no one song quite compares to "Jesus Freak", from their last album, "Supernatural" comes very close and the other 11 tracks are all intensely listenable. DCT somehow continues to improve with each new album, and this is their most satisfying one yet. Mainstream audiences don't know what they are missing.
