My town got hit by a series of earthquakes in 2012 and since then, I'm more and more concerned about what we can do to prevent a possible really hard situation which can follow a disaster like that. Unfortunately even though there is no magic solution or disappearing trick to avoid that, there are ways that can really make it a lot easier to go through.
This book is a really practical and straight to the point guide, based on which you can be able to easily plan your actions and definite steps in overcoming dangerous situations like natural disasters or any hazardous event or threat. I learned by personal experience that in these situations, clarity is the main thing you wanna have when dealing with them. Thanks to this little guide and some perseverance in carrying through, you will know what to do, when to do it and how to do it!

A really recommended reading also to who's interested in general planning and home organization!

1.0 étoiles sur 5 Kindle Edition is full of typos, short, and disappointing 22 juin 2014

Not at all what I hoped for. This book briefly (less than 10 minutes of reading time) touches on food and water survival concepts. I say concepts because there is no actual how to involved. Just quick summaries of things to consider.

Half way through the book (15 minutes after starting) the author finally starts off talking about food and water. Frustrating to read with all the typos, grammar errors, and lack of editing. I will keep looking for a more useful book on the subject as this was disappointing. In the water section he briefly lists major ways to purify water. No details as to how to or further information...merely lists boiling, disinfection, distillation. I guess the author assumes you will wikipedia and youtube to learn useful information.

The author proposes heating food with fondue pots and chafing dishes.

Section title "Coping Up with Trauma"

"Distillation: While the two other methods [disinfection, boiling] may leave some microbes and heavy metals, distillation process is the surest way of getting rid of all the germs, salts, and metals. It involves boiling water and collecting the vapor that condenses back. This might be daunting and you might op to contact a local water distiller company." Yup, that's all he says. No guides on how to build a still assuming you have a way to boil water, or how to make a solar still as many survival books list.

I wanted to like this book, I really did. I mean when you get something for free you should find something to like about it. Unfortunately that is about the only thing I could find to like about it.

As mentioned in several other reviews this desperately needed someone to proof read. If you're like me it will take you twice as long to read as it should. You'll find yourself stopping repeatedly thinking "What did that just say?" And going back to reread to try to figure out what he really meant to say.

As to the information? There is very little. Not even as much as what most people with common sense could figure out on their own.

I guess if you haven't done any type of research on self sufficiency, homesteading or prepping it might be enough to get you thinking about storing food and water. But if you are thinking about it enough to be considering this book, I suggest you keep on looking. And if you are looking for free info there is much better on the net.

Which is definitely a lesson I just learned!

Poorly edited; useless information. I am very glad I did not pay for this book. It was a free download and will be deleted as soon as I finish this review.

I saw a free ebook about a subject I was interested in I thought, "YAY! I get to learn something for free!" I warn you, don't bother. The book is nothing but grammatical errors and typos. It was painful to read, and I got a "D" in basic college English. I forced my way through it in case there was good information towards the end. There was NONE. I'm pretty sure English is the author's second language. I'm positive he googled the topic for 30 minutes before cranking out this pitiful excuse for a book. You will learn 10x as much watching half an episode of that doomsday preppers tv show. I hate to say such mean things. I hate being disappointed by a book even more so.
