LOVE with all of my heart!! 13 mai 2014
Par Lacey @ Booklovers For Life - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Format Kindle Achat vérifié
Oh my gooooosh!!! I’m so freaking IN LOVE with this book!! Christina Lauren have outdone themselves! I can’t even begin to describe all of my feelings, my love for this book! When I got my arc, I literally jumped for joy and squealed. And I devoured Sweet Filthy Boy in pretty much one sitting. Sigh. I wish this book never ended. I could read about Mia and Ansel and France forever.

Christina Lauren fans, I’m delighted to say that you absolutely will not be disappointed with Sweet Filthy Boy! When I finished SFB (with a HUGE smile on my face), I was thinking, “Oh my God, I think I love this book as much as I love the Beautiful Bastard series.” I fell in loooove with the characters (oh, Ansel), the writing (France!!), and everything else about this book. To be quite honest, Sweet Filthy Boy was perfection.

So we have our lovely heroine Mia, who, along with two best friends, goes to Vegas after graduating college. And at Vegas, Mia meets Ansel, who is sexy, alluring, and French (let me just say I fell in love with French boys because of Ansel. I WANT MY OWN FRENCH BOY PLEASE). Buuut, after a night of hard partying and drinking together, Mia wakes up and can’t remember the night before. Enter the shocking little plot twist that I didn’t see coming at all! If you read the book, Mia’s situation may seem a bit similar to a certain other rocker book I shall not mention, but SFB as a whole is nothing like it. SFB was unique, refreshing, and so much fun to read. It’s become one of my favorite books of the year!

Ansel and Mia have an undeniable attraction to one another. Ansel wants Mia to give them a chance at forming a relationship, but Mia isn’t sure that the two of them can actually work. They had a one night stand at Vegas, ended up in a crazy situation, and now Ansel wants Mia to go back to France with him? Umm… I’d have been a little skeptical too (although now that I’ve read the book and fallen in love with Ansel, I would’ve DONE ABSOLUTELY WHATEVER ANSEL WANTED ME TO DO). Still, when Mia looks at the prospect of her future after graduation, she’s not happy about any of it. So… she decides to take a chance, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and go to France with Ansel.

So Mia will spend the summer in France with Ansel, and they deal with their relationship day by day. They have a bumpy start at the beginning of their relationship though. Ansel has to work a lot, and doesn’t have much time to spare to spend with Mia, and Mia is in a foreign country left to fend for herself. There’s a definite strain in their relationship, especially since they started off rocky anyway, but the two of them are determined to make their relationship work. And it helps that Ansel is just so freaking sweet to Mia…

“I just want to make love to you all day,” he says against my mouth and rolls on top of me. “I don’t want to think about work or friends or even eating. I want to exist on you alone.”

Ansel is just… perfectly imperfect. He’s got so many sides to his personality, and it was incredibly easy to fall in love with him. He’s sweet, charming, funny, sexy, and he whispers sweet nothings–in French! He's an impulsive kind of guy (which is good and bad), he's definitely a lover and not a fighter, and I was swooning so much for Ansel throughout the book. You just can’t not smile because of him.

“I love that you’re trying to learn my city. And God help the poor boys who see you walk by in that little sundress I saw hanging in the bathroom. You’ll have admirers following you home and I’ll be forced to chase them off.”

Do you SEE how freaking cute and sweet Ansel is??

And as the two of them spend their summer in France together, they slowly… fall for each other. It’s slow and sweet and heartwarming and inevitable. They never really thought that they’d fall for each other, but they do, and this creates complications, because what happens after the summer is over? Mia has to go back to America, and Ansel has to stay in France. My heart was aching for the two of them, because I wanted them to work so bad. Mia and Ansel are perfect together, and have become one of my all-time favorite couples.

“I’m lost in you.”
I gasp, nodding frantically. “Me, too.”…
“What you feel, Cerise? I feel it, too. F***, Mia, I feel everything for you.”

Mia and Ansel’s beautiful romance was an absolute joy to read. I was swept away by their whirlwind romance, by the depth of the characters, and by the writing. There’s the perfect amount of sexy to balance out the sweet, and I loved how much Sweet Filthy Boy wrung so many emotions out of me. I’d be smiling and giggling one moment, and hurting for Mia and Ansel the next.

I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK. I can’t say enough good things about it–everyone needs to experience Ansel and Mia and France. You will fall in looooove like I did. I give SFB 5 perfect stars!

Vive la France! And Vive la Sweet Filthy Frenchmen! 14 mai 2014

J'adore le livre ~ Sweet Filthy Boy!

Whenever I need a wonderful, relaxing book to read -- one that will stimulate my imagination, my senses, and other things best not referenced in a professional review -- I immediately check to see if there are any books by Christina Lauren that I have NOT had time to read. Recently, I was fortunate enough to have their latest release in my hot little hands at just the right time, and as usual, it worked its serendipitous magic. If you are packing for a holiday, feeling over-worked, under-appreciated, listless, or just in need of a new book with what I like to call a high "squirm-factor,"™ Sweet Filthy Boy, the first of the new Wild Seasons series, is calling your name. It's naughty and nice - in all the right places. It's a holiday in your hands.

I doubt that there is a woman alive who hasn't at some point imagined herself making an utterly spontaneous, out-of-character (some would say crazy) decision, and acting on it - if for no other reason than to claim it as her own, to break the mold, to follow an uncharted path simply to see where it leads. Of course, we all imagine it leads to something truly amazing or at least unforgettable, and in this story, it does both.

Ansel Guillame, a charming, utterly magnetic, drop-dead-gorgeous French attorney, meets Mia Holland in a bar with her friends as they celebrate their college graduation. Their connection is powerful, intimate and immediate, complicated only by the fact that each must soon return to the lives they left behind: Ansel to his corporate law practice in Paris; and Mia to her home in San Diego, followed by graduate school at a prestigious university in Boston. However, realizing - for reasons best explained in the book - that they have "unfinished business", Mia breaks character, leaves everything and everyone behind, and flies to Ansel's side to spend the rest of the summer in Paris. There, as expected, she discovers a life she never could have imagined - and must deal with the fact that all too soon she will have to give it - HIM - up, only to start a new life she isn't sure that she wants.

Ansel and Mia are wonderfully well-developed characters that give the story its humor, hotness and heart. The supporting characters - who will get their turn in the limelight as the series continues - are best friends Harlow, Lola, Oliver and Finn, all hilarious, a little crazy, and very loyal as Ansel and Mia find their way through the absurd situation they find themselves in "after Vegas".

The book's title draws you in - it's naughty, sassy, and fun; but there is so much more to the story than the title implies. Its main characters are not extraordinarily complex, nor are they seriously damaged in any way. Each is immediately engaging and relatable. Together, they are an endearing couple with a few secrets, some insecurities and lots of uncertainties, who are facing their future - together or apart. Both are desperate to make the right decisions, for the right reasons; and both are secretly weighing the cost while skirting the issue of their impending separation. How they deal with themselves and each other from beginning to end is the true heart of this story. Ansel is much more than a sweet, filthy boy; and Mia is much more than a shy, socially awkward, naïve college grad. They grow, separately and together, as their story unfolds.

Sweet Filthy Boy is everything we have come to expect from Christina Lauren: it's an extraordinary romp, an erotic not-so-guilty pleasure, full of smart dialogue, great characters, beautiful settings and an engaging storyline that will keep you entertained - even at times entranced - from beginning to end.

4.5 Sensuous Stars for Sweet Filthy Boy (Amazon does not allow decimal points!) Add it to your reading list - if you love Christina Lauren, Qwen Salsbury, Alice Clayton, AJ Linn, and other authors with a great sense of fun - and a true sense of heart - you will truly enjoy this book.

Get ready to laugh, swoon and pant just a little! 18 mai 2014
Par Michelle New - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Format Kindle Achat vérifié
Mia and her two besties, Harlow & Lola just graduated college and are off to Vegas to let loose & celebrate. But Mia's not the type of girl to just let it all go. Too much has happened in her past and the weight of the future she doesn't want to allow her to free, until she meets him.

Ansel is spending the last few days in Vegas before he has to head back to Paris and to his job as an attorney, one that does allow him much time for much else. Seeing Mia from across the crowded club, then knocking at his door was all it took to get this boy hooked.

Mia finds herself completely at ease in his presence, the stuttering is non-existent - she can talk to him and tell him things that she never thought she'd say out loud, especially to a perfect stranger. When she decides to be bold and for one night be the girl that would never let a chance with a guy like this slip away, she discovers that she ends up with far more than she ever imagined.

One drunken night in Vegas turns into so much more. She knows the responsible thing to do would be to go home, prepare for the life she knows she doesn't want - but the idea of summer in Paris with Ansel, what girl could say no to that?

"I want to love all my life as much as I love this night."

Sweet Filthy Boy was everything I wanted it to be. After coming of the success of the Beautiful Series I wasn't certain as to what to expect with their new series. But everything that I loved about their style was here. The trifecta of perfection, characters you love, a story that makes you swoon and writers that can make you laugh.

"I'll be honest, from the looks of my mouth, I sucked d*ck for a long time last night."

The way this duo writes these stories just amazes me. They hit the mark every time. The banter between the characters, the way the story line always remains clear - it just amazes me that this book, their stories come from two separate minds.

"You just implied you're b@nging me tonight."
His grin gets bigger as his hands snake around my waist.
Play your cards right."
"I forgot my cards."
His smile wilts dramatically.
"But I did bring my pen*s."
"I'll try not to break it this time."
"In fact, I think you should try your hardest."

There was a perfect balance to the lighthearted humor and the developing love story. The kind of love story where the characters have to work their way backwards from where they start to where they end. Falling in love with the idea of each other, without knowing one another. But knowing that the instant chemistry and the desire they feel is every bit real.

"With Ansel, I feel like my heartbeat is chasing his. I want to leave my fingerprints all over his neck and his lips. I want to suck on his skin, to see if it's as warm as it looks, and decide if I like what he was drinking by tasting it on his tongue. I want to have an entire conversation with him where I don't second-guess or struggle with a single word, and I want to take him back to the room with me and not use any words at all."

There was always this tone of a much deeper story lingering just beneath the surface. There was humor, there was sizzling play time scenes and even some heartfelt moments - but there was a bigger picture of realizing what you really want in life and not being afraid to take it. Sometimes people find that path on their own, but sometimes it takes just finding the right person to show it to you.

"Life is built of these little horrible moments and the giant expanses of awesome in between."

A quick fun read...but not much else 28 mai 2014
Par Karen Beckett - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
While overall I liked the premise of the story and I enjoyed the development of the relationship between Mia and Ansel, I honestly got tired of the sex scenes. I felt like a lot of it was gratuitous and didn't do anything to move the story along. That said I did enjoy the girlfriends--Harlow and Lola and felt that they came across as real and true. As a huge fan of Beautiful Bastard and Beautiful Stranger this story was just okay...hope the next two offer more!

sweet and filthy perfection 20 mai 2014
Par Jessica Sotelo (Angie and Jessica's Dreamy Reads) - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Format Kindle
Sweet Filthy Boy is precisely what the title suggests... sweet and filthy. Christina Lauren hits us with another unputdownable, unforgettable, indescribably sweet and filthy romance. This writing team delivered exactly what I expected them to after falling so hard for the Beautiful Bastard series. But they also delivered a whole lot of awesomeness with Sweet Filthy Boy that I never saw coming. This book is unlike anything else I've read. Ever. The dynamic created in this story, the characters, everything about it is a perfectly crafted little package that I want to reopen again and again.

I could not possibly love this story line more. Two people in the right place at the right time, a completely coincidental chance encounter, that becomes... everything. Mia is celebrating her college graduation with her two best friends on a wild weekend in Vegas. Ansel, a Frenchman, is passing through with two of his close friends, having a final night of debauchery before they all head home to their respective home countries. Eyes meet in a crowded bar and a wild one night stand ensues. It sounds cliché, but it is anything but. What happens in Vegas most certainly does not stay in Vegas.

I connected with these characters immediately. Mia is the perfect heroine, in my opinion. She might be broken in some ways, and she's certainly feeling a little lost, but she isn't weak. She knows what she wants, and I couldn't help but fall in love with her. Ansel is, indeed, sweet and filthy. From the second I was introduced to him in this book, I wanted to know him. He's a perfect alpha male but in such an unobvious way. He's ideal. He's everything you want in a male counterpart, but rarely ever see in fiction. He says everything I wanted to hear, sometimes in FRENCH, for God's sake! Together, these characters are perfectly imperfect. Their failure to communicate on a basic level makes for such a creative, well crafted, multifaceted story. Their inability to make long term decisions, knowing exactly what they want but unwilling to say it, and their obvious diverse personalities and individual hidden pasts all juxtapose to make for one seriously angsty, unpredictable, perfectly flawed romantic ride.

Sweet Filthy Boy is brilliant. The writing of Christina Lauren is everything I want and need and crave in a book. It's fluid and perfect and if I could read their words every single day, I would do it gladly. The well developed characters, the witty and sexy dialogue, the perfectly paced story line, the curveballs thrown at the reader at the most unexpected moments... this story is everything. Sweet Filthy Boy is exactly what Christina Lauren fans will expect, yet it will still completely blindside them with surprise and unpredictability. It's also the perfect book to introduce readers who aren't familiar with this writing team yet. It's perfectly sweet and perfectly filthy and readers will undoubtedly fall in love with this story.
