Here's a list of my favorite things about "Take Control Of Your Life" and why I would definitely recommend it to anyone with any goal, big or small:

1. Rachel's style of writing is very personable, conversational and easy to read. She doesn't try so hard to impress you with big words and lofty concepts that you have to work hard to understand what she is saying. It's like she wrote it for me and you, rather than to show off the depths of her knowledge and expertise.

2. "Take Control Of Your Life" is short and concise. If, like me, you are more of a starter than a finisher, it's important to get through the "instructions" and into the two hours of work as quickly as possible.

3. Rachel doesn't just tell you to set a goal or what kind of goal you should set, and then leave you to figure it out, she gives you step by step instructions on how to find the goals that are true to yourself and break them down into manageable next steps to accomplish them. She gives several great examples from her own experience, but she emphasizes that you need to trust yourSELF in this process. Also, as part of trusting yourself, she demonstrates how your objections and fears about reaching a goal can become a tool in your success.

4. Rachel doesn't just give you the intellectual tools to set a goal and make a plan to achieve it, she also gives you free access to her brilliant productivity tool. Tasks, like "making a plan to help you set and reach your goals", can take as much or as little time as you allocate to them. Rachel's tool illustrates perfectly that if you don't set a limit for how long it should take, it could take forever and you never get to the point of taking action.

There are several more gifts of tools and resources in this book, but you'll just have to get into it and see for yourself.

I haven't finished reading the book yet but I wanted to go ahead and add a review. What I've read so far is just that good. I have always attached goals to what I think I want, not how I want to feel. I'm thinking that will make all the difference. That and the step by step plan. Thanks Rachel. You are a gem!

This is seriously one of the greatest books in goal setting. Rachel literally breaks down every step for you and includes tons of samples for you to learn from. My kids's start school tomorrow, and I am ready to write down my goals and start working to achieve them.

Reading this book made me think of a few instances in my life where I achieved a few things I desired; looking back, I realized that I had unknowingly used some of the techniques suggested by the author. I didn't always have specific goals, but I did have a strong emotional connection with what I wanted to achieve and with the work that I was doing at the time. What I'm trying to say here is that I know firsthand that this stuff I'm reading actually works. It worked for me when I needed to improve my finances, my health and my relationships.
I love the practical approach to setting goals and finding ways to make them happen, but where this book really shines (from my own perspective) is in guiding you to discover that emotional connection with the things you desire in your life.

If you're anything like me, you have tons of goals but no plan. Or, you do have a plan but you have a hard time executing it. I'm SO glad I found "Take Control Of Your Life" by Rachel Rofe. This novel presents a process that allows you to find out what your true goals are, but also a way to plan them out and effectively achieve them. Each step is throughly explained yet very easy to understand. I am now on my way to being a more successful person and I know I couldn't have done this without this novel. Pick this up today and you will never regret it!
