(this relates to the Kindle edition) A very perceptive observation of life in France - particularly liked the chapter on how the French always have to be right. Highly recommended for newcomers and interesting/amusing for "old hands". BUT - the reason for only 3 stars - the sub-editing (proof reading) of the (for many people essential) French phrases and vocabulary is appalling. It looks as if the (italicised) French phrases were run through an *English* spell checker, which played havoc with them (e.g. "un litre de lait" becomes an incomprehensible "un litre de kit", "pichet de rouge" becomes "picket", "Elle" (magazine) becomes "Elk") but nobody noticed.
