Présentation de l'éditeur

Try – verb: to make an attempt or effort to do something or in this case…someone.

Sex. Logan Mitchell loves it, and ever since he realized his raw sexual appeal at a young age, he has had no problem using it to his advantage. Men and women alike fall into his bed—after all, Logan is not one to discriminate. He lives by one motto—if something interests you, why not just take a chance and try?

And he wants to try Tate Morrison.

Just coming out of a four-year marriage with an ex-wife from hell, a relationship is the last thing on Tate’s mind. He’s starting fresh and trying to get back on his feet with a new job at an upscale bar in downtown Chicago.

The only problem is, Tate has caught the unwavering and unwelcome attention of Mr. Logan Mitchell – a regular at the bar and a man who always gets what he wants.

Night after night Tate fends off the persistent advances of the undeniably charismatic man, but after an explosive moment in the bar, all bets are off as he finds his body stirring with a different desire than his mind.

As arrogance, stubbornness and sexual tension sizzles between the two, it threatens to change the very course of their lives.

Logan doesn’t do relationships. Tate doesn’t do men. But what would happen if they both just gave in and…tried?

Format:Format Kindle
This is my first read by Ella Frank and I am officially crushing on her. I love the male/male genre and this one blew me away. The depth of the characters, the chemistry running through them, their strength and determination, and their heartache made for an amazing story.

Logan is used to getting anything he wants. He is all alpha male, tall, strong, sexy as sin, and loves the human body – male or female. He doesn’t do relationships and wants just about anyone in his bed. This man all he has to do is look at you and you melt. Panty dropper would be a great nickname for this man. He isn’t used to rejection so when the object of his affection turns him down repeatedly he is more determined to get the man that is always saying no. He doesn’t know what is in store with him with chasing Tate but he is damned sure going to enjoy the chase and the ride.

Tate is a bartender at the bar that Logan goes to at least 3 nights a week after a long hard day of work. Tate is new to the bar and doesn’t know about Logan’s ways. Going through a nasty divorce Tate finds himself keeping to himself and not letting anyone in. Shocked by the come ons that Logan throws his way he assures Logan that he is a straight man and isn’t interested. Night after night Logan ruthlessly propositions himself to Tate and the more Tate shows is anger and says no the more Logan wants him.

Will Logan’s persistence pay off and finally get Tate to Try and have him in his bed? Will Tate risk everything, his friends and family, to explore feelings he shouldn’t be feeling?

Oh Ella I am in love with you woman! This book was amazing. The sexually chemistry that flowed between Tate and Logan felt like I was on fire.

I fell in love with Logan because he was very determined to get Tate to open up and try new things and those new things included them in bed together naked. He would stop at nothing to get Tate naked and underneath him. Their relationship progressed at a great pace. It wasn’t like POOF they were in bed together – Tate held off but after so many run ins and so many sleepless nights not know why he body was feeling things it shouldn’t be feeling he finally gave into the idea of trying.

And let me tell you when Logan and Tate get together there are always fireworks around. They fight like cats and dogs and its addicting. They are steamy and sexy and sinfully delicious. Logan can’t help that he doesn’t have a filter and he tells Tate exactly what he wants even if it makes Tate uncomfortable because Logan gets turned on watching Tate squirm. When Tate finally gives into the way his body feels around Logan and decides to go all in he is determined to stick to his decision and when it happens it made me scream heck yes and jump up and down like a crazy person.

The relationship between Logan and Tate wasn’t easy because Logan was comfortable with himself and who he shares his bed with, Tate on the other hand not so much. They fought all the time. The feelings were all so new to time – he needed time to adjust to those feelings before making their relationship known to everyone, especially his friends and family, around them. He knew the ones he loved the most wouldn’t support him on his decision because of their beliefs but when the time was right he was ready to fight for what he wanted and he wanted Logan.

"My _____ is in my ______ pants, exactly where I put it after you finished sucking me off a minute ago. Wow, Tate, when did you turn into such a little ______?"

(You feel in the blanks)

Things really start to heat up between Logan and Tate after Tate accepted his feelings for Logan and what his body craved and when they heat up, I am talking really really heat up.

Everything is running smoothly, Tate is getting comfortable in his own new skin and learning new things about himself. Logan is happy and falling hard for Tate, which is something not expected. Tate is ready to fight for his relationship with Logan and than one afternoon, one meeting changes everything and turns Tate’s world upside down. My heart broke for Tate because he was ready to give up everything for Logan and I was left feeling empty and helpless for him.

When Tate finally fights for the relationship he wasn’t sure he wanted in the beginning will Logan get scared and run, what he does best? Will Tate’s heart shatter knowing that Logan’s reputation shows he never does relationship and everything is strictly sex with him? Or is Tate different and are those feelings that Logan starts to feel enough to have Logan taking a chance at love? Will Logan and Tate risk it all to be together – will they both Try and at building their futures together?

"Why don't you understand that everything I've done and just did, I did because of how you make me feel, Logan? Even when I knew my family wouldn't understand, I did it anyway, just to get closer to you. How stupid was I?"

Ella Frank you are a GENUIS! I seriously could NOT get enough of Logan and Tate – I was sad when the book ended because I fell in love with them. Yes Logan is a cocky, arrogant, piece of man but that’s why I loved him. I loved Tate because he was so unsure and stubborn in the beginning but I got to watch him slowly accept the feelings he had and try something new and it was beautiful. They fought like cats and dogs and it made it sexy as hell. They hardly ever agreed on ANYTHING except their crazy attraction for one another. It was a beautiful story about a man finding out that it’s okay to feel things you don’t think you should feel. Love is a feeling between two people whether it’s male/female, female/female, or male/male. Love is beautiful and Logan and Tate are beautiful. I can’t wait for more.

~ ~ ~

This book is an exercise in marathon sex. Sex in incremental intensities and formations and explorations. It’s all about the sex. And damn, the guys are hot, sexy and good at sex. But there isn’t really anything new here. Don’t get me wrong, I mostly enjoyed it even if I didn’t really connect with the characters. I just chalked it up to being an erotic series and figured that’s what I would get. And I did. So, on that note, the book did achieve its goal of being erotica. It's not a romance. Yet. Maybe that will develop as the series progresses.

My problem is that the characters told me they had an emotional connection, but they never showed me. I have no idea why they think they're in love.

It's another book that falls into the insta-love-for-no-reason category.

"Logan always went after what he wanted though. That was half of his problem. He had no boundaries. […]But wanting this guy? That was a stupid choice in every way."

Logan Mitchell - The definition of player. He’s in it for the chase and conquer. And then he’s out. He’s also kind of a bully.

"He made a living off of it. He was always the cat that never caught the mouse, but he sure played with it for a while to make good money. But in the scenario, with this guy, Tate found himself feeling a lot like the mouse – and that pissed him off."

Tate Morrison - Once he decides to turn the tables on Logan, whew, it gets hot.

Logan is a sexy sex machine and is out to have it all. He does women, he does men and he does women and men. He likes the game, but when he sets his sights on Tate, the sexy bartender, there’s no stopping him. If Tate had just said “yes” from the get go the story would’ve been over. But no. Tate is straight and doesn’t that make the game more fun for Logan? Tate is a natural tease and that just leads to chapters of flirtatious flirting and flirtiness. I think Tate just can’t help himself.

Sexy, dirty, vivid details. Yup, it’s all here. You get to ALL the bases and then some. It's almost written in stages of how to initiate the new guy.

Not so much. It’s just two guys attracted to each other and then doin’ it. I don’t know why they think they have an emotional connection. There was so much sex time on the page that there wasn’t any time to develop a relationship. Wait, what? 350 some pages and there wasn’t time for relationship building? Hm. Well, when you figure it out, let me know. There were a few attempts to make a bond between these two guys, but it just didn’t go anywhere. I realize this is a series, and I suppose there’s more to come on that front, but I don’t know if what I’ve read so far is enough to keep me around for book 2.

Listen, if you want a hot, sexy romp with every erotic detail s.p.e.l.l.e.d. out for you then this is your book. If you’re looking for a male male romance, keep looking.

This is the first review I have ever written so that means I feel strongly enough to write one.I bought this book based on the number of positive reviews. I was so disgusted I couldn't even finish it. I am a gay man. This book is basically very low class pornography. Porn is OK in its own place but please do not try to sell a love story based on what you consider to be gay. I do wonder how a woman writer can imagine she is capable of describing m/m sex. The feelings, sensations etc are in her head and I now believe all these books are written for frustrated women who have some kind of m/m fantasy. Ask a real gay man what it's like. Nothing, absolutely nothing, like what you describe.

TRY is about two males and their intimate relationship. This book has an extremely high heat level. I mean you can’t turn a page without someone squirting white stuff all over your kindle. No seriously..

Logan. What an A- hole . But I LOVE IT lol I was honestly so freaking surprised at how things unfolded in the end for him. Logan loves every flavor of the rainbow. He pokes, strokes , licks and pounds. Any and everybody that makes him twitch. #NODiscrmination #AllApplicationsProcessed

LOL yea Logan doesn’t care. He’s a hit it and quit it type of guy.

Until he meets Tate

Tate damn.. Tate.. Ok at first I was all, “YES I WANT LOGAN.” And then the last 10% of the book Tate STOLE the freaking show. Logan meets Tate and instantly has a constant twitch for Tate . But the difference from this twitch and others is this twitch WON’T go away and Tate is not having it. Tate is a straight male not interested in Logan this bi sexual/straight/whore/sexy body /lawyer trying to put his legs over his shoulder.

Wait, Oh, LOL

I learned a lot from this book. I am not sure that was what I was suppose to get from the book but I did. I learned that a man really knows what a man wants. (Take notes ladies Logan can truly teach us a few new tricks)

Reading this book I was like damn I want to be in a relationship with a gay man. LOL I’m telling you. One of the many feelings you will feel while reading this book is a slight form of jealousy. Because the sexual tension and angst that these two have is off the chart. I can see why some men would want a man (shoot I don’t blame them) the roughness that these two have with each other whether it’s during an argument or one of their intimate moments it is HOT! When reading the typical m/f book the male will only go to a certain point when arguing because they treat the woman as fragile. Logan and Tate both respect each other. But they do not beat around the bush or send mixed signals when something is upsetting them. They say what they want and mean it.

Try is book 1 in a series it does not end with a major cliffhanger BUT I was CRAVING more. I literally feel like I finally tried it and let Ella (author) and Logan (character) have their way with me only to say.”See ya Sumer 2014 for book two.” LOL i’ll be there with lube, cigarettes and a bottle of tequila.

SMIBookClub received an ARC of Try from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I have never read any of this Authors previous works. I now understand that this is a spin-off from one of her M/F series. Cudo’s to the author for bring the fabulous world of M/M romance to her many readers. I hope they stay and enjoy the many great books out there.

That said I found the first 1/3 of this book hard work. After a lot of eye rolling and snorts of “Yeah right”, it took one particular scene that pulled me completely out of the book, to realize just what was annoying me. Yes Logan was an arrogant jerk, but if you swapped Tate’s character to a female, then this was just like a number of other M/F Romances, a genre that i have basically have stopped reading.

After years of reading only M/F Romances, I swapped to reading M/M romance about 18 months ago and now only read a couple of M/F romances a year. The M/F Romance got really stale to me. When you are constantly reading the same story but with different character names, it gets really boring. That’s the part I love about the M/M genre. The interaction between the guys is fantastic and keeps my interest. The struggles at times can break your heart, and there have been many books I have read in tears, and the highs can make you laugh out loud in happiness, and unfortunately these two guys didn’t have it for me.

At this point of the book I honestly would have given the book only 1 star. But instead I stopped and started doing some research on the author, which is when I found out that this was her first M/M Romance. That made me continue reading, and I will admit that the book got better once the guys got together. Yes there were the usual miscommunications, that thankfully were dealt with quickly and the dreaded hell witch female character, but for a lot of the book I did actually wonder what Tate saw in Logan as he was such an arrogant jerk, and their dialogue many centred around Logan trying to get Tate into bed.

I will also say that when I am reading a M/M romance, I really don’t like M/F sex scenes in them. Yes I understand that Logan was Bi, and that was why those scenes were included in this book, but I prefer only M/M sex scenes.

All in all it was an Ok first effort, but I think that there are many better books available in the M/M romance Genre.
