Présentation de l'éditeur

An infamous, bad-boy billionaire offers a 21-year old young intern $10 million dollars to enter in a "pretend marriage" for one year. What could possibly go wrong?

From the CEO suite to the marriage altar, they thought they could fool the world. But when it came to the Honeymoon, the bad boy billionaire and the young intern suddenly realize that the joke was on them. A pretend marriage suddenly erupts into a full-fledged romance. "The Accidental Honeymoon" is a fun, romantic and unexpected story of what happens when love gets in the way of "the perfect business proposal."

A full-length novel.

One minute, Karin Davis was working a dead end job at a high-end retail clothing store in Santa Clara, California. The next, she is interning at Emperor Technologies - the hottest company in the world. That life-changing opportunity comes with a big string attached - she must keep a secret of a high-level company executive. A secret that causes Karin to walk on eggshells, isolated away from the gossipy interns with Ivy League pedigrees.

Karin's discreet behavior earns her an opportunity to work on a super-secret project within Emperor's inner sanctum. The overwhelmed 21-year old now finds herself working directly with Ryan Wilde, Emperor Technologies' bad-boy billionaire CEO.

With a net worth of over $20 billion dollars, Ryan Wilde is used to doing things his way. Something that gets the uninhibited CEO in increasing trouble with his shareholders. Facing consternation for his increasingly outrageous behavior, the bad boy of Silicon Valley decides to pull his biggest stunt yet - settle down in a "sham marriage" to silence his critics. The 36-year old billionaire turns his attention on "that cute, little, quiet intern." Ryan's proposal to Karin is simple, "Pretend to be married to me for one year and you'll be set for life." Now, Karin finds herself with two life-changing opportunities. And two major secrets to keep.

As Ryan and Karin plan their sham marriage, something unexpected happens - a smile, a kiss, a hot & heavy romp during their "pretend Honeymoon." Can a "fake marriage" survive a genuine relationship? Or will Karin's life-changing world come crashing down around her?

"The Accidental Honeymoon" is a 55,000 word romance novel.

Even if the story is not new (the secretary - or here the intern - with the billionaire boss, a pretend wedding...), I found it quite pleasant to read. It took me only 3 days ! It's fresh, the characters are nice, and the different settings are pleasant.

Even if some episodes are useless (some with the blogger and his team, the one at the "sex club...), and even if there are some spelling and grammar mistakes, I recommend it.

1.0 étoiles sur 5 Don't waste your time 29 octobre 2013

I bought this book thinking it would be a great quick read. I didn't even finish the second chapter before I quit reading the book. It has tons of errors in the text and it is written in such a way that you can't even get a feel for the story. It feels like you are just a casual observer to a story that is being told to you by a monotone narrator. Once again, don't waste your time, find something more engaging to read.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Awkwardly written, lots of errors and too steamy 29 octobre 2013

The way this is written is so odd. If you pick it up you will see what I mean within the first few pages. It's almost like a robot is describing a series of events in a very matter of fact way. It makes it difficult to feel for the characters or fully engage in the story. There are many spelling and grammatical errors throughout. These pop up at you more and more frequently the longer you read.

For me personally it was too steamy and too descriptive of their sex life. For some readers this may be a plus, but for me I prefer romance stories without this being such a big part of the storyline.. I found some parts sleazy with a big yuck factor for me. Like visiting some warehouse club where anything goes and your exploits are viewable by others. Ewww and yuck for me.

You may b wondering why I don't give this a 2 star rating. I waffled back and forth on that one. I feel this is a very middle of the road book. At least I understood the storyline even if I didn't embrace it.

2.0 étoiles sur 5 The writing was impersonal 29 octobre 2013

The only way to hook a reader is by making a story not only engaging but relatable. An author can only do that by writing it in the voice that enables a reader to do so. But this author failed in that. She kept on referring to the heroine as the 'young intern' the hero as the 'CEO' and even the lawyer as the old head lawyer of the company. It's so impersonal and standoffish that as a reader i feel pushed out of the book and it should be the exact opposite. Because of it i feel dissuaded to keep reading therefore stopped.

1.0 étoiles sur 5 Painful to the nth degree... 5 novembre 2013

This book was so atrocious I don't even feel like it warrants the time spent reviewing it. The short of it? Don't waste your time - even if it's free, it doesn't deserve the space on your Kindle. Why?

1. There are so many spelling and grammar errors that it's not even coherent at some points.
2. Both the speech and storyline are so nails-on-a-chalkboard awkward that you might as well be listening to a Garmin rattle off driving directions. I'm wondering if this person even knows what a contraction is.
3. There are so many holes in the storyline that before you get done wondering about one, you'll end up wondering about the next. (What? Did she wear the same dirty clothes to work the next day? Wait... how did...)
4. There's so much name dropping and brand names being shoved down the readers throat that it reads like one gigantic billboard ad. Coke Zero, Aeron, Ferrari, Prada, Tiffany's, Mercedes, Bentley, Gulfstream, Daniel, Schlumberger, Picasso, Rolls Royce, Waldorf, Ritz...
5. The author goes to epic lengths - we're talking elephant-in-a-china-shop, here - to prove to the reader that Ryan is rich, connected, important, famous, sought, hot, genius, trendy, powerful... for Pete's sake, everything short of having super powers (although I didn't finish the book... he may very well end up having super powers). He get's anything he wants, has everything awesome, get's into "super-secret" clubs - YEAH! WE FRICKIN GET IT ALREADY.
6. First to third to first to third to first person... all in the same paragraph. Schucks, all in the same sentence at times. I'm dizzy.
7. The over-the-top characters and situations are so absolutely comical that I almost thought it was a satire. Sadly... it's not. (Two words: Tor Janz. HAHAHAHA!!!)
8. The entire reason for marrying Ryan becomes almost pointless as Ryan flies to NYC and convinces IBS (irritable bowel syndrome?) to make him the CEO once the merger is complete... which was the whole reason for marrying, right? To convince them he's suitable for the CEO position?
9. Ryan and Karin make absolutely no effort to portray themselves publicly as an actual couple. None. If you're trying to convince an audience that you are "changing your ways" and now intend to marry your love interest... affection is appropriate. To act like the marriage is a business deal and essentially never touch each other in public is just counter-intuitive.
10. Karin exists in a bubble. Her friends, family, roommates... they hover outside of it, never wondering or caring what's going on in her life. Their brief appearance towards the end of the book is nothing more than an after-thought, like some convenient wedding accessories.

Yeah, so I couldn't get through this monstrosity. I am truly, honestly embarrassed for the people that gave this 5 stars. Truly. It's like going on Yelp and giving 5 stars to a McDonald's for a microwaved egg McMuffin you ordered and saying it was the best breakfast you ever had.

There are missing words from sentences and commas in the wrong places. ( on page 106, Ryan says, "Maybe I should them this footage," leaving out the "show.")

This book is written in present tense instead of past (although flashbacks are in past tense) which is very distracting from the story.

The characters are flat and one-dimensional; the dialogue is as stilted as if a robot were speaking.

The female lead is repeatedly described as a "young intern" while the male lead "jokes" in every other sentence.

Any Office program's spell-check would have caught the vast majority of these mistakes and a good editor cold have cleaned up the rest.

Don't bother.
