As a sleep, natural health expert and entrepreneur (and former insomniac who knew what life was like with no energy), it's clear that having abundant, natural and vibrant energy.

From the moment you wake up, to the moment you fall asleep, vibrant, natural energy is one of the greatest gifts and assets you can have in your life. Yuri hits it out of the park (or scores a corner kick goal given his pro soccer background) with the first book I've read (and I have 100s of natural health books) that really delivers clear and concise how's, why's, where's and when's of strategies to have optimal energy throughout the day.

My low energy time of day was often around 5pm, and after using a few of Yuri's suggestions, my energy rocks right through that period now.

I follow the "7 Commandments for Energy" in the book, and also love that this book goes WAY beyond diet.

It has smart suggestions for supplements, exercise, improving digestion (poor digestion drains energy), naturally balancing hormones, and destressors (stress drains energy).

Very impoortantly, the book also focuses on helping you gain greater clarity on your passion and purpose. Passion and purpose are perhaps the greatest energizers of all, and you won't find this in any diet book I've read....

I have already recommended this new book to friends and clients, and will continue to do so. Yuri has created a new and important health category

With that out of the way, about a month ago I asked Yuri for some dietary advice for my Mom who suffered a stroke. Overall she was OK, but she had lingering dizziness and her cholesterol and blood pressure were both off the charts.

The doctors put her on meds and told her it would take about 3 months for the meds to kick in and bring her #'s back to normal.

Yuri recommended she follow the "7 Day Energy Reset", which is a 7 day step-by-step meal plan outlined in the book.

She followed the 7 Day Energy Reset then afterwards continued to follow the core principles taught.

After 1 month, she went for a follow-up appointment with her doctor.

The results showed that her #'s had all dropped to normal (and were actually better than my 40 year old brother)!

The doctor was shocked and delighted and was very curious as to what she did, because her results were so drastic and quick.

My family is grateful to know Yuri and anyone who gets this book will benefit, whether it be an increase in energy, losing weight or bouncing back from a serious health problem like my Mom.

I have read many books about health and wellness and to be honest, this book doesn't reveal any information we didn't already know (eg the SAD is ruining our health, we are too inactive, gluten causes digestive inflammation).

Even for the average person, I would not recommend this book. The health concepts are poorly explained and for the most part, unsubstantiated by research. For example, Yuri points out that we should eat raw food because it has greater "vibrational frequency". Although he qualifies this concept as "not validated by research", he then goes on to explain its (theoretical) benefits as if it's established fact! If he included more detail about nutritional density and which nutrients are destroyed by cooking in a factual format, then reading his thoughts might have been worth my time.

Another feature of bias was his explanation of PRAL (Potential Renal Acid Loading) and that a diet that is too acidic causes disease, such as metabolic acidosis. But then fails to even identify another metabolic condition that occurs when your blood is TOO ALKALINE called "metabolic alkalosis". The buffer system that counteracts pH change by the respiratory and renal system is not at all discussed, probably because he's not qualified. This cherry picking of information represents a very poor quality of information that I think shows this book contains more opinion than fact.

I was interested to read about digestive enzyme depletion but again, I was disappointed by the lack of research to substantiate this theory. He recommends some supplements, but does not give an indication of signs that they are working (eg change in digestive function) or cautions about dosages. Advice regarding supplementation is basic and largely lacking.

The 7 day (mostly) raw vegetarian diet isn't anything different than what you could find on Google.

If you're seeking a book that is written by someone who is qualified to discuss scientific literature about improving your energy, I would highly recommend Chris Kresser's book "Personal Paleo Code" or Diane Sanfillipo's "Practical Paleo". If you're struggling with an Autoimmune disease, Sarah Ballantyne's 'Autoimmune Protocol' book and cookbook are excellent.

Just don't waste your money reading this guy's opinion about what he thinks is healthy when he has not demonstrated a good understanding of human physiology.

Spend your money on an author who is qualified, unbiased and can provide advice that is substantiated by research.

The All-Day Energy Diet offers a genuinely fresh take on what a healthy diet entails. The book is full of wisdom that is often counter-intuitive. For example, digestion requires a great deal of energy, and so paradoxically you can feel better and more energetic by eating less.

The book also puts a strong emphasis on the quality of foods you eat, and recommends striving for 75% raw. It also focuses on the importance of alkaline vs acidic foods. Most of the foods we eat, especially those with lots of protein, fat and sugar, are highly acidic. By eating more alkaline foods like vegetables, you can bring things into balance. Other ideas include the importance of liquid, and even adding a pinch of sea salt for extra sodium, and more energy.

The book also includes a 7-day "energy reset" section that includes a complete meal plan with recipes for every meal each day. There are also sections on exercise and even how to organize your daily life for added energy.

Overall, this is a great book with a fresh perspective that can help you overcome the fatigue that plagues so many of us.

Loaded with easy to assimilate dietary information and written in an engaging friendly style. My only reservation, and why only 4 stars, is Yuri's heavy emphasis on raw foods, which I find can be too cooling for me. When I try to incorporate more than 50% raw food in my diet my digestive process slowly weakens. I do better when I lightly steam most of my veggies and even some fruits so would have liked to see this mentioned as a viable choice as well.
