One of my favorite Winslow books 18 octobre 2001
Par David Adler - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
Thank the Lord Morris is continuing the Winslow series into the 1920s. This one was very good. It kept me wondering more and more about this James Parker character, so the suspense level was high. I really felt like I got to know Jared and Emily in the beginning. References were made to characters from other books and short recollections were made to events from other books...folks who haven't read the other books yet might get annoyed by this, but they helped me get the know the Winslow family as a whole and put the whole series in perspective. And we get to see Belle Winslow again, this time as an older lady. We find out what happened to Mark, Thad, Davis, and a few other key Winslow family members as they grew old. This made it more interesting to me. I like to see all the characters in the family interact across the entire series..these are not just a set of disjointed books. Some of the story details in the references to earlier books were not consistent, but these were small parts of the whole picture.
This book taught me a lot about forgiveness, and how hard it is to forgive someone who really sticks you a big one. Emily held out for a long time, but she eventually learned she had to forgive the one who hurt her the most, and Ian makes a wonderful transition in his life. This is a wonderful message that Morris shares with us about God throughout the story.
The Title is Descriptive 2 novembre 2014

Format: Format Kindle
The fictional book begins in 1917. The principal character is Emily Winslow, a Christian, close to her parents Aaron and Gail, and close to her older and younger brothers, Jared and Wes. Jared goes to fight in World War I, James Parker later shows up, and falsely tells the family he's a friend of Jared's. Parker did unsavory things in his youth and early adulthood, but is saved, and goes to Brazil before Emily and Wes arrive to write a story about a remote native tribe alongside the Amazon River. Emily and Parker fall in love--again--Parker goes back to the US with Emily and Wes, who do the story. Emily's faith wavers because she hates Parker and can't forgive his deception for a time. The book begins at a moderate pace and gains speed as it goes. It has many emotional and action twists and is hard to put down. I rate it at five stars. David Carlyle, "Another Land."

Gilbert Morris is a talented writer that could make nearly any thing into an interesting story. His Winslow storyseems always to center around a very stubborn character that would have never acheived their goal if they had been less stubborn. This very stubborn lady had to go to a dangerous Amazon tribe for a story.Morris makes an interesting story of it although their was less of the tie in with historical information that I have enjoyed with many of his books.
Writer buries heartache deep in the jungles 1 mars 2006

Emily Winslow's yet another wonderful addition to the Winslow line. She's sensitive yet sensible and in the end has the good sense to know when a man's truly changed. Trusting someone's never easy, especially when they've broken your heart and lied to boot. Emily grows and changes and becomes a better woman for it.

Why is it that many writers have their characters love books and write??:-)

l have read 25 of the books in the series now, and I am still enjoying them so much. The Amazon Quest kept me on my toes trying to figure out the James Parker character, empathizing with the Winslow family, tramping through the Amazon Rain Forest with the characters and once again being blessed by the faith and Christian walk seen in so many of the remarkable characters. Thank you, Dr. Morris for giving us this outstanding series. l will begin book 26 tomorrow!
