This book is a joke 1 septembre 2010
Par L. Orozco - Publié sur Amazon.com

It looks like now some people are selling this book for 100-200 dollars. Don't buy it, unless you are a freak collector :)
The book is really small, and it's a joke of a book. It looks cheap, feels cheap. There's very few concept art, and lots of screen captures, which, at this resolution, are awful to look at. Don't waste your money.

Not the art book I was looking for... 20 octobre 2011
Par Sarah - Publié sur Amazon.com

Like a lot of other people, I enjoy the art books to animated films almost as much as I enjoy the films themselves.

That being said, some of the older Disney movies, like The Little Mermaid, were done before they put together the really juicy artbooks we see today, full of character and background designs, concept art, storyboard, etc.

So don't expect any of that from this. You'll get a cute little book mostly comprised of stills from the film. Definitely not worth the $50+ people are selling it for.

I would guess that if Disney does do a real art book for this film (and why wouldn't they?) they are going to wait until they release The Little Mermaid from the Disney Vault again for Blu-Ray or something, like they did for Beauty and the Beast and it's corresponding art book earlier this year.

Oh, and since there isn't an options for viewing inside this book here, you can see for yourself what it contains at this video: [...]

Very low ratio Qality/price 15 mars 2014

The description of the book wasn't complete enough to understand how this little piece is very expensive compared to its original price. It is almost a rip-off. Never again.

I wish it were more like the Art of ... Pixar books. 16 décembre 2013

If anyone has copyright issues or anything with me posting this book flip-through, please let me know and I'll be happy to remove this review. Watching art book flip-throughs are the best way for me to find out if I want to buy something or not. Just like the other people mentioned, this book is mostly made of screen captures (which are clear, crisp and beautiful), but there's not a whole lot of concept art or sketches. After the screen caps and movie script there are 4 pages dedicated to 'History', 4 pages for 'Theme and Concept', 6 pages for 'Music', 8 pages for 'Characters', 8 pages for 'Environment' and 4 pages for 'Acclaim'. It gets across the interesting facts, there just aren't a bunch of quotes from artists.
