Somatics may sound like a strange concept to you now, but once you let Richard Strozzi-Heckler explain its essential role in a life well lived, I think you will gratefully embrace (and hopefully embody) it. This is not a how-to book full of tips and checklists, but rather light being shown on a new path forward. It posits that we all developed smart coping strategies to deal with the life cocktail in which we found ourselves swimming, but rightly notes that many of these "conditioned tendencies" are not only no longer useful to us, but actually damaging to our well-being. These are the learned responses that are holding us back as lovers, friends, neighbors and leaders.
This book is well written, and as valuable for those who want to be coached as for those who want to pursue this fascinating field of service to others. The many stories of personal transformation that punctuate the book bring the relevance and power of Somatics to life.
Richard Strozzi-Heckler is a wonderfully engaging and inspiring writer. I know when I read a book on Kindle and end up highlighting nearly the entire book, that the author is not only wise, but a master of our language.
I heartily recommend, "The Art of Somatic Coaching".
