Présentation de l'éditeur

Many new dads have never even held a baby, or they have little or no experience in taking care of babies.

Men can feel apprehensive and unsure about how to interact with their offspring, especially when that offspring is a tiny little bundle that weights under ten pounds!

That apprehension, though, shouldn't put men into the back seat of parenting, as that would be taking a step back from one of the most important experiences of life.

Men need to take the initiative and create their own ways of bonding with their children, right from the beginning.

Bonding with a baby or toddler is about the small moments that you spend together, looking at each other, talking, taking baths and walks, and playing.

It's not something that happens instantly; instead, it's a relationship that grows over time.

The Baby Bonding Book for Dads is about practical, everyday things that fathers can do to enjoy being with their children and forging the bond between them.

Topics include newborn bonding, carrying, skin-to-skin contact, diapering, going places, napping, playing, exercising, and reading to baby.

The instructive yet lighthearted text is delivered from a dad who has been there (Properzio is the father of three), and is paired with the delightful photography of Christopher Briscoe, making this book a handy guide and a perfect gift for any new father who's feeling a little nervous about the new responsibility in his life.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 A beautiful gift for fathers 25 mars 2008
Par C. G. La Ferle - Publié sur Amazon.com
James di Properzio and Jennifer Margulis have given every new father a wonderful gift. Their beautiful book contains short, informative essays covering everything a first-time dad needs to know, from the importance of skin-to-skin contact to the joys of reading aloud. While the text is instructive, it's also friendly, entertaining, and accessible -- and can be read between naps. Enhancing the essays, Christopher Briscoe's black-and-white photos of babies and dads are works of art. (Moms, you'll love looking at this book too!) Very few books are available on this topic, so this is a welcome addition, and a perfect gift for new dads and fathers-to-be.

The book is different from all those with the million how-to approaches. It's a short down to earth but helpful and indirectly encouraging book for fathers to be. Little to read for some nice simple bonding tips like holding the baby skin to skin and the bonding effects it has on baby and dad.

"The Baby Bonding Book For Dads" is a Must READ for all new fathers. Instructive, humorous and heartwarming, it is a poignant account of simple, everyday tangible ways (such as skin-to-skin contact) for fathers to connect with their children, through their developing senses, that create a positive and profoundly indelible effect on them for the rest of their lives. Written from his experienced voice as a hands-on father of three and, at times, from his own young childhood bonding memories, di Properzio's fathering manual with delightful accompanying photos brings to light the importance of what has too long been considered to be only a "mom thing". Great Father's Day Gift! Great for grandfather's, too.

Well written and inspiring. A good, short, light-hearted and humorous introduction on the subject. There is some practical advice, but don't expect a technical how-to-change-a-nappy-in-3-moves guide.
This is essentially a coffee table/gift-for-dad book, with beautiful baby pictures.
Note to the editor: horrible copy-editing (was there any?), there are at least three glaring typos, which I think is inexcusable for this kind of book.
