Présentation de l'éditeur

In 1967, the first I Ching book, The Book of Changes, was published in English. The Book of Changes detailed the 64 hexagrams from the Chinese I Ching in great detail, giving the Western world powerful insights into the archetype of humanity

In 1987, a new science of personal discovery, Human Design, was conceived : Human Design.

Human Design is a synthesis of ancient and modern wisdom traditions including Eastern and Western astrology, the Chinese I Ching, the Hindu Chakra System and the Judaic Kaballah, combined with Quantum (Neutrino) Physics and an understanding of the Human Genetic Code.
Human Design gives us an extraordinary in-depth understanding of the possibilities for mankind, particularly in these changing times.

In this new book, The Book of Lines, Chetan Parkyn, a Human Design Master Practitioner and Teacher for over 20 years, shares a modern day explanation of the Chinese I Ching as it relates to Human Design, and also as a standalone version of the I Ching for divination...in clear, straightforward language.

The Book of Lines is a 21st century view of the I Ching and gives the reader a deep and practical way to understand who they are, how they are energetically configured, the power they naturally carry and share with the world and how to proceed in it with clarity and awareness.

This modern-day, easy-to-understand manual is an important companion guide for anyone who uses the Chinese I Ching and Human Design.

The Book of Lines takes a deep and mystical esoteric science and translates it into simple, grounded language that helps the reader gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their loved ones, and the life conditions that influence us all.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Not substantive; disappointing 12 janvier 2013

I was disappointed in this book. I have the author's previous book, which I like a lot. I was expecting the same level of substantive content in this newer book. It just doesn't have this. It is mostly graphics. It gives only a brief sentence usually on the lines on each of the gates, and the source of the information seems to be based on Richard Rudd's transcendently amazing book The Gene Keys, which I have. This seems like a better introductory book to leave around on your coffee table so visitors will ask leading questions.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Somewhat difficult to understand 29 octobre 2012

I am a student of Human Design and purchased this to use as a reference book. I find much of it difficult to understand. However, I have heard that it is significantly easier to understand than the source material from with it was drawn.

I began studying Human Design relatively recently, and a significant focus of my classes is on making Design comprehensible and easily applicable to daily life. When I am better educated in the details, I think I will find this book more useful as a source of deeper understanding about the gates and line.

This book does do a wonderful job of graphically displaying the gates and lines within the body graph, and providing other relevant information. It is only the depth of meaning that is difficult to draw out.

The book is actually very good, but I'm going to give it 2 Stars right now for the following reason. I purchased the Kindle version, and the way the book is formatted for Kindle, the font throughout is only 6 point (VERY tiny)- the book wasn't formatted by the author so that the Kindle font adjustment/enlargement would work. I spoke with Amazon's Kindle Department, and they weren't able to help. I did discover on my own that you could double click the page, which would make the font large enough to read, but this is cumbersome.

Authors who publish for Kindle need to be aware of how a Kindle works, so they can make their e-books more user-friendly. In light of this, another issue that I hope the author addresses is creating an index/table of contents notation for each of the 64 Gates. You have to swipe your finger physically through every single page to get to the Gate you want. Since there are 2 pages per Gate, Gate 50 means having to do 100 swipes- not very easeful. Once you get to the desired Gate, you can bookmark it on the Kindle, but obviously this is cumbersome as well.

I informed the author about this issue, and his assistant did get back to me. I'm giving the book 2 Stars for now so that hopefully he'll create an updated version. The content, as I said before, deserves 5 Stars. Once the update is in place, I will happily revise this post and give the book 5 Stars.
