Andria, as a child, was not an active person. She would much rather read a book than be outside playing. She did not consider herself to be attractive or pretty. She was not happy wither weight or her body. She tried all different diets and pills. She signed up for a one year gym membership. She quit after one month. Two students that she was tutoring told her that she was very pretty and encouraged her to go back to the gym. This got her thinking about losing weight again. She talked to others who had lost weight. She liked what she had heard from a couple of people. She decided to try what they did. The weight loss plan she chose allowed for eating 6 small meals a day, with three of those meals being protein shakes. It also recommended exercise once a week for 20 minutes. You only work one muscle group at a time and a rep can take upwards of a full minute. There is a good question and answer section in the book. She also gives some decent recipes that I would like to try. Worth reading!

This is not really anything "new", but it is written with a new take on things. I do wish the author had fleshed it out a bit more and had better explanations for the foods that are supposed to be eaten in the rotation.

I only gave it three stars as the book needs to better explain this plan. It is great that the author lost the weight, but I was hoping for better references. Saying 1 protein, 1 complex carb, 1 fibrous/vegetable carb isn't helpful. There is a brief explanation on what these are but no concrete "Yes or no" answers for these. This should be included in the book, I shouldn't have to hunt these examples down on the Internet.

The take home message of this book is, if you have a plan and commit to carry it out, you will be successful. So many people used food for depression and comfort which lead to unrecognized health issues. It is a curse that in America, fast food is so prevalent and every one is on the go to grab something to eat. Planning your meals, selecting the key ingredients and committing to a exercise program is truly the right way to stay fit. I appreciate the authors no nonsense attitude and encourage everyone to try out what works for her. I felt right at home reading her short book.

I like that we got to know Andria's story and got to learn what she did. This book isn't chock full of statistics but a no nonsense approach on the best way to lose weight. It gives you a realistic idea of what she did to lose the pounds and keep them off.

This books seemed to be right up my alley, lose weight while only exercising 20 minutes A WEEK! I hate to exercise, I can not get myself motivated to exercise by myself and I can not find anyone to exercise with.
The author, Ms. Downy sounded like she was describing me when I read this. Did not participate in sports in school, other than the have to PE class, I loved to read anything and everything I could get my hands on just like she did.
I have the food part pretty much down as far as what I need to eat and what not to eat, I want to do some exercise, but it is just not there for me. While I was reading this book, it actually was getting me a little motivated to at least look into possibly purchasing a stationary bike that I can exercise on my I am reading or watching television.
I found it very interesting that this particular diet works off the ABC model and is repetitive. I like that it does not tell you what to eat on what day but says things like, you can have 1 protein, 1 vegetable carb, 1 protein shake. I like that. The author has included some great recipes that I plan on incorporating into my diet. Great book and very helpful
