There are literally thousands of books written on the subject of depression. The problem with most is that it's nearly impossible for a depressed person to read the entirety of one of these books. Since a central aspect of depression results in your having a lack of interest in doing ordinary things, reading a 400 page book on the subject isn't a viable option.

This brief book, on the other hand, actually covers the exact same aspect of depression as the other books do, but does so in a way that enables anyone to not only learn about the illness, but what to do in order to overcome it. Sometimes short and to the point is better than long and drawn out. Such is the case with this book. After reading it, you'll have a very clear idea as to what type of depression you have, as well as what to do in order to feel better again.

The author does a fantastic job of breaking down the different types of depression, as well as the differences between how it affects men and woman. Although very brief, the 15 - 20 minutes that it will take you to read this book will provide you with all you need to know in order to cure yourself, or at least to direct yourself toward a professional who may be needed, depending upon how depressed you are.

This book, which helps you understand depression, one of the biggest curse of modern life, is a big way in helping one get out of depression.
When I took this in my hand, I thought this may just be another book on the block, and shall occupy some place in the list of thousands of books.
And when I actually started reading it, it really helped me understand where and how depression starts hurting you in each and every aspect of life; when personal life goes for a toss, when you get hammered at work, when your social circle relations swing like a pendulum. In thousands of book available (and mind you, there are books as fat as 1000 pages), this one stands out since it won't require a person who is in depression to dedicate hours and hours to read; maybe a few hours and he or she would find oneself out of the trouble he or she was in.
What it does best is that it provides references to you so that you are able to relate to many of your situations, and hence, helps you understand depression in a better way and get out of it.
I would strongly recommend this to anyone and everyone so that people can throw this problem out of their life and start feeling happy about it.

An incredibly valuable book that made a huge impact with my recovery over the past year. It's very easy to read and is written in a way that's friendly and understanding. The book does an amazing job with explaining depression and describing the importance of understanding it. This was useful to remove the self-blame, shame and frustrations that usually accompanies depression. I approached this book as if I was getting the most important lessons in my life and I've walked away with a lot of life changing knowledge. The book is full of references that back up what was written which was helpful when I was skeptical. Reading through this book you will learn many ways of helping yourself and being compassionate to who needs it the most: You. For those who are struggling I hope this book will help you as much as it did for me.

I attended many counseling sessions and visited therapists; however I was unable to find a way to treat depression which tended to recur frequently. I then came across Martin Taylor’s book on curing depression.

This book is not a medical journal that provides treatments or miracle cures, it very simply stated how to identify the source of the problem and what could be done to deal with it.

As Taylor suggested, I changed my lifestyle and my perspective, this brought about a paradigm shift in not only the way I think and live, but also in the way I interact with others. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the ones that work the best.
