We do not E.C. everyday, nor all of the time, but just reading this book has taught me when to recognize my baby's elimination signs, so I know when she's ready to use the bathroom. When we do E.C. parents and friends alike are amazed that a 1 month old baby can use the potty. We're doing E.C. so she can be comfortable with using a potty, making transition a breeze. At the moment, she seems to know when she's on the potty that she can use the toilet. The book is informational and set up in easy to read sections which makes it a great reference guide for busy parents to come back to time and time again. No matter your toilet training/communication plans, I recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand their baby's signals for more rewarding parenting.
UPDATE: My child is now one year old and walks. She now grunts before doing her business which gives us ample time to put her on the big toilet so she can go. We even have a small potty in a central location and she went to it and squatted next to it and grunted. She gave us time to remove her diaper so she could go on the potty. Her very experienced nanny said she has never seen anything like it and has never heard a child give the communication that they want to go to the bathroom. I am truly a believer in the EC method. This book and the 90-minute sleep program are the best books I have read in parenting thus far. It takes some time, patience, and dedication to invest in the method, but the results have made our lives so much easier.
