Présentation de l'éditeur

Things were looking up for Graham Peterson in both his career and his love life at the end of the last book, 'The Diary Of A Hapless Father: months 0-3', but things were never going to stay sweet in Graham’s garden for long. Having had his proposal to Alison refused and at risk of losing his new job before he even starts, 2013 isn’t off to a good start at all. One of the only things keeping poor old Graham going is knowing that the first three terrifying months of his son Charlie’s life are behind him.

Over the course of six months, in 'The Diary Of An Inexperienced Father' Graham realises just how inexperienced he is not only at being a father, but also in his other relationships and outlook on life.

The only question is, can Graham get his life on track before Charlie is old enough to form an opinion of his dad?

Really liked the diary books. Just a nice easy laid back read. Graham is, I suppose, like most men. Nervous and a worrier, although they all try and hide it. I did!

I read the first two of this collection, so I was pleased to see the third released. It’s slightly different in that things seem to be going ok on the outside of this book, although as we go along, we still see the same tragic Graham trying to make things right. I enjoyed the ending of this one a bit more than the others, it has to be said.

A quick and entertaining read. Not sure if this was based on the writer's own experience or should I say inexperience? but it (apart from the aliens bit) has that quality of everyday delights and frustrations that everyone deals with or at least tries to and are recognizable. I would read other books by this author.

I really enjoyed reading this book gave you some laughter you get some sadness and overall it was just really good to read.

When reading a book sometimes it really wish there were pictures throughout the book just to give you an idea of the situation your reading about. Like some of Charlie's first life happenings like his first crawlers first turning over those kind of thing would be cute to see a picture of it to go along with the story.

I hope you can enjoy reading this story as much as I did and happy reading

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Part Three of the Diary of a Father Series 7 mars 2014

The Diary of An Inexperienced Father is the third book in a series by Pete Sortwell which focuses on Graham -- a guy that is a new father and is in a bit over his head. As with the rest of the series, the book is told in diary format with Graham making periodic entries that detail the story. This book shifts the focus of the story a bit in that Graham begins to get his life and career moving in the right direction. In the first two books of the series, Graham is in a dead-end job working in a small restaurant. This novel focuses on his move to a new job that is more in line with his interests. In addition, although there are setbacks, Graham seems to make progress in his relationship with the mother of his child. Overall, the book is an average read. On the positive side, there's an evolution in Graham, a guy that in the first book was difficult to like due to his immaturity and poor decision making. He doesn't quite fully overcome that in this book, but certainly makes strides in the right direction. Additionally, an interesting element is added to the story in which Allison (the mother of Graham's child) finds his diaries and reads through them which is an interesting twist. On the downside, however, there's a real lack of any poignant moments between Graham and his son. For example, in the second novel, he focuses on the question of whether to introduce his child to religion or not -- a topic that could have been expanded on (or further considered in a diary format). Instead, a significant portion of the book details Graham having to deal with a speeding ticket and take a safety course as a consequence -- while the author attempted to introduce humor in this section, the overall subplot just fell flat and seemed out of place. I would have rather seen less of that and more introspection as in the second book.
