Présentation de l'éditeur

The files of the CIA, the FBI, the FAA, NASA, the Army, Navy, Air Force and other U.S. government agencies all have documents relating to UFOs, UFO investigations and UFO activities that have affected their operations. The Government UFO Files by Kevin D. Randle looks at the suppressed evidence, the hidden plots, cover-ups, misleading statements and documented connections to government intrigue. The Government UFO Files sorts through the information, sources and files to help develop a fuller picture of government activities.

An Accurate Appraisal of the Situation 29 mai 2014
Par TemplarScribe - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Format Kindle
I've been a fan of Kevin Randle's work for almost twenty years, ever since coming across his book "Conspiracy of Silence." There are few researchers in Ufology with as much gravitas as he: having been both a decorated helicopter pilot, an Air Force intelligence officer (rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel) and the winner of a Bronze Star, he's no armchair quarterback. He's seen the military-industrial complex from deep inside. His efforts to uncover the truth about the UFO cover-up have often been met with ridicule and skepticism, but he keeps up the fight.

There have been a lot of new incidents since the 1997 release of "Conspiracy." Here's just one: Dozens of people (and a few pilots) have admitted witnessing a "Super Wallmart-sized UFO" flashing illuminated icons from the side of the ship in Stephensville, Texas in 2008, before the craft flew off in the direction of the Bush ranch (while being chased by U.S. jets on afterburner). An incident like that should be met with Benghazi-level investigations. Instead, the witnesses are intimidated, the evidence is covered-up, and the officials in charge of our safety flat-out lie (as when the FAA claimed they had no radar traces of the UFO or the jets following it, until ordered to release the tapes). It falls to dedicated researchers like Randle to ferret out the truth for us.

Whether we choose to bury our heads in the sand (as the first viewer below), or we choose to look the terrifying truth straight in the eye, all depends on getting as close to the truth as possible. Randle does just that in this new release, bringing us up to date on a number of the classic stories, as when he goes into deeper detail than before on Foo Fighters, or with new information, as in his interview of Su-22 pilot Oscar Heurtas who had a running dogfight with a series of UFO "balloons."

Definitely worth adding to your collection.

Kevin Randle is the most thorough UFO investigator I know. His most recent work begins with the Foo Fighters in 1942 and leads us through the most fascinating cases to present day. "The Government UFO Files" is a must-have encyclopedic addition to the library of anyone with an interest in this subject.

Lack of footnotes a disservice 13 août 2014

After having read the major literature on this topic with interest in the government documents aspects to it I was disappointed in the lack of standard footnotes to passages and quotes used and to the lack of focus on the titled topic. One would expect a book titled The Government UFO Files... to have a focus on the files and to provide its readers / fellow scholars a means for following up on the "files" that are addressed in the book by providing footnotes to documents and page numbers. Disappointingly, fewer declassified files are referenced than one would expect given the title and most of these are taken --assumed, looking at the text and bibliography-- from previously published books on the subject.

Moreover, long sections are retelling of events paraphrased from other books with little to no mention of government files. This book by a highly respected author in the field surprisingly could have been so much better and even added to the scholarship if it had at least included footnotes. Otherwise, the author does a disservice to other scholars who wish to continue research where he left off. (I read the Kindle edition. If the paper edition is properly footnoted then consider that.)

Added comment: A very disorganized book that jumps around disconnected subtopics. Needs serious editing. The sub chapter breaks with a recurring graphic and out of context quote are disconcerting to the reader. Read Maccabee or Dolan for are a more readable yet scholarly treatment of the subject.

The fact and imaginarium do not not agree with each other. The universe is vast in ways we do not know of yet.

While chock full of information, this book took me a month to make it to the end. It might be just me. Good photos though.
