nice program for building raw strength and speed.
the program is a variation of the 5\3\1 by jim wendler, and i think the 5\3\1 is a better program(and the new beyond edition really takes it up a few notches) but maybe some people could benefit from that book, maybe those who dont like the basics of the 5\3\1(some of the principles stil here, but the progression and the templates are different).
i liked the sprinting template because it's to improve speed which is my target with sprint training, but with raw lifting i stick with 5\3\1.
i recommend to buy the 5\3\1 book and the beyond 5\3\1 book, and after that maybe buy that one.

This is a super great program for athletes requiring explosive strength, speed, power, and high alactic capacities in their sports, as well as Powerlifting, Olympic lifting, and Strongman athletes. It is a combination of carefully selected aspects from many other great programs, such as the Westside Barbell's conjugate method, Jim Wendler's 5-3-1 lifting program, and Eastern Block training methodologies using volume and intensity progressions to strength, as well as deloading scenarios. It separates the wheat from the chaff, and drops unproven and inappropriate training methods for raw lifters or raw lifting athlete. It also employs modern cutting edge sport science, leaving ossified reference frames in the dust where they belong. All in all, it is a synergistic approach that results in much more than the sum of its parts.

On a personal note, I bought Chad Smith's Juggernaut Method book because I enjoy diversity and variety in my workouts and athletic endeavors which include such things as sprinting, speed swimming, kettelbells, TRX, powerlifting, plyometrics, various other exercises, and some Olympic lifting. Using his method, weight lifting for explosive strength and power is a support to my athleticism rather than a vortex of energy depletion. At 64, I want to keep my athleticism going, improve, and continue to make gains as long as I can in speed, alactic ability, and raw strength. It's fun, a challenge, and an adventure - and this book is right up my alley! I recommend Smith's book to serious athletes of all ages and abilities. It is hands down the best approach for athletes in sports requiring explosive strength.

The only criticism I have of the book is that it has many typos - way too many, and although it did not interfere with my understanding of what was being conveyed, the sheer number of typos takes away from what could have been a very professional conveyance commensurate with the author's expertise, credentials, experience, creativity, and good will. A look through by a technical writer would have really helped, and relative to the author's professional standing, I have no idea why this was not done.

Logic based. Sound principles applied that make sense when you are able to remove the fear associated with thinking outside the "strength and conditioning field community" box. Chad Wesley Smith breaks the program down to be easily understood and implements ideas not only from his own experience and training but that of other great minds such as James Smith, Jim Wendler and other Soviet Sports Scientists. If your not afraid to think for yourself as a coach, then this is a great program to implement into not only your own training but that of your athletes.

Easy to follow and easy to set up a program using the method. Athletes need to set themselves up with a program and stick to it. This book makes it easy to do by yourself. Just stick with it. You can't say something doesn't work when you don't follow it 100%
