Présentation de l'éditeur

***Books 1 & 2, Now Available On Audio Book!***

See how it all begins ... Book #1 in the bestselling book series, the Legend of the Firewalker.

Teenagers with supernatural powers.

A college town deep in folklore, murder and mystery.

A vengeful secret order.

And fallen angels with dark and powerful forces that will stop at nothing to find the one they seek...

"Give this book a try! From the very beginning you're going to get thrown into scenes that are down right creepy. Mr. Bevil seems to enjoy eliciting some of our instinctive fears of the dark, and the unknown." Amazon Reviewer

"This book was well written and I read it pretty fast! I loved Nathan's dialogue and the things he would say while hanging out with his friends was hilarious. Right away this story starts off interesting and kept me wanting to read more." Goodreads Reviewer

Back of the Book

A black hooded figure suddenly appeared behind her. She gasped and her brown eyes grew wide. Nathan watched helplessly as a small trickle of blood fell from her mouth. Other hooded figures appeared; their silver swords clutched upright against their chests. Nathan held tight to her lifeless body while trying to fight back the tears that swelled in his eyes. "No," he cried. "No!"

Nineteen-year-old Nathan Urye is supposed to be having a relaxing summer as a camp counselor but ever since he started having nightmares about a beautiful girl being hunted by flesh-clawing monsters, his life has been anything but normal.

Soon, Nathan discovers that the sleepy college town of Cahokia Falls is far from ordinary when two unexplained deaths rock the town and campus. Who or what is behind the murders? Does it have anything to do with the newly-discovered cave symbol? And what about the spine-chilling campfire stories about ancient tribal beliefs and mystical legends?

For Nathan Urye, things just keep getting creepier and creepier, and now it appears that everyone at camp is in danger...

Disclosure: I received this book for an honest review. (Now that THAT is out of the way)

When I first started this book, it grabbed me. It was about a girl named Leah having visions and nightmares, and being thought crazy enough that her mother placed her in an institution for them after her dorm room was torn apart and what they thought were self inflicted wounds all over her.

Cut to Nathan, who is the caretaker's grandson. He and his grandfather Roy are helping the owners of the mansion (and consequently friends as well) get ready for LaFonda's (the granddaughter's) birthday party. He's also been having nightmares about Leah, altho he doesn't know who she is, but is drawn to. He finds out at the party that LaFonda used to be in the same dorm as Leah, and that they were friends.

Nathan, LaFonda, and various friends are Leadership Counselors at summer camp that just so happens to be located at the University where Leah had her breakdown.

The thing is....was not really caring for the way this story was put together. There was a bit of a disconnect on the way this story unfolded that had me lost in places. There was way too much conversation between the Counselors (ie purple hairbrush), and could have done without the gossip. I do believe that more could have been centered around the Cohokia Indians and the paranormal happenings.

The story felt really rushed at times, with some just accepting what was happening, and I feel that less conversation and more about the Firewalkers, Dreamwalkers, etc should have been explored.

The story starts interestingly, but was quite a waste of even the little bit of time I put into it. Couldn't finish it There are grammatical issues and editing requirements on top of that. Good thing I got it for free. A story that will not make you feel like there's anything new in it, the writing is not even a bit exciting, things that should be mentioned in a line have been stretched.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Starting with chapter one this book held my attention. The legends in the book told around the campfire gave me goose bumps and the supernatural creatures; necrocritters, dark hooded guards with swords and red hooded priests added a lot of layers to those story. Not to mention the Fallen Ones!

At times I wasnt sure how things would play out because there were so many challenges facing Nathan and his friends.

I really enjoyed the climax of the book and could easily see this book adapted as a movie.

I cant wait to see what's in store for Nathan and his friends...but you have to read the book to see if they all make it out. ;)

I think perhaps I starting reading an entirely different book from everyone else as I seem to be one of the only people who not only couldn't finish this book, but really didn't like it.

Poorly written, desperately in need of editing and even though I got 1/3 of the way through it, I still had no idea what the central premise was or who the characters were.

I don't like writing bad reviews, but if I had had any idea of the issues with this book, I never would have picked it up to begin with.

I received this book by the Author and the “Lovers of Paranormal” Group on Goodreads in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!

The Legend of the Firewalker by Steve Bevil, is an extremely enthralling story that pulls you in from the very beginning! Leah is ending her freshman year in college, looking forward to a relaxing summer at home after a traumatic year. Nathan is a camp councilor with his best friend, Lafonda, at a summer leadership camp after their freshman year. At camp they meet several new friends to include the wickedly handsome Malick, easy going Jonas, and studious Jonathan. The six week camp reveals things to these friends they never thought possible.

"The dark may have its minions Nathan, but the righteous have their heroes."

"He told us he couldn't open the window for strangers, so he opened the front door instead."

"Because your laugh is how I always imagined it would be."

I extremely enjoyed this book. The way the author weaves together the Cahokia Indian folklore with the Bible and other known legends is fascinating. The characters are perfectly developed and likable. Nathan is a very compelling main character. I LOVED the ending! It is very satisfying and hooks you in to want more! Looking forward to the next book in the series!
