Présentation de l'éditeur

A classic that just keeps getting better, The Little SAS Book is essential for anyone learning SAS programming. Lora Delwiche and Susan Slaughter offer a user-friendly approach so readers can quickly and easily learn the most commonly used features of the SAS language. Each topic is presented in a self-contained, two-page layout complete with examples and graphics.

The fifth edition has been completely updated to reflect the new default output introduced with SAS 9.3. In addition, there is a now a full chapter devoted to ODS Graphics including the SGPLOT and SGPANEL procedures. Other changes include expanded coverage of linguistic sorting and a new section on concatenating macro variables with other text.

This title belongs on every SAS programmer’s bookshelf. It’s a resource not just to get you started, but one you’ll return to as you continue to improve your programming skills.

I needed a quick reference with an explanation and an example to fix a program and The Little SAS Book had exactly what I needed. I was hesitant to buy the kindle version but I am so glad I did!

This is the book that should come with your SAS installation 26 mars 2014

I drove myself crazy looking for basic information on the syntax and options of the SAS language. The SAS support site is a joke, and most of the SAS publications are ridiculously expensive. I was turned off by the title of this book, and I didn't think it would apply to SAS Enterprise Guide. I was wrong. This was exactly what I needed: a "get your foot in the door" basic reference to SAS programming syntax suitable for people who already have experience with programming. I wish I had bought this book months ago.

When I was in grad school, I'd have gladly paid $200 for this book while learning SAS.
It's available a lot cheaper :)

If you're learning SAS, get this book and work your way through it.

Great Intro to SAS 20 juin 2014

I love the layout of this book. This was the first SAS book that I used and I didn't realize at the time, but it is one of the higher quality SAS-related publications. Others I have purchased since have been disappointingly amateurish.

The two-page sections provide just the right amount of information, and are great for pacing yourself for self-study. They introduce an idea or a function generally, then provide a code example using data tables that you can access through SAS OnDemand. My one nitpick is that I would like the examples to operate a bit more like exercises. They show the code first, then explain what it does, whereas it would be nice if the problem was presented first and then the code solution. That way I could make an attempt at solving the problem myself before seeing the code. I was able to do that for some sections, though, and overall this is a good book. Definitely recommend for first-time users.
