After hearing and reading a lot of hype about this cookbook, I was ecstatic to finally get a copy - and I do mean FINALLY. I live in the US and it took months in-between hearing about it, finding a copy, and getting my copy purchased and shipped to me.

For starters, it's a very tiny book. For a cookbook, especially, it is remarkably thin (perhaps harkening to it's readers how thin they can expect themselves to get). I like my cookbooks to be filled with hundreds of recipes, and this is filled with no such number.

Second, it is overwhelmingly filled with seafood recipes. If you are not a huge seafood eater (as I am not), then the already small number of recipes here will suddenly shrink even more.

However, what recipes I have enjoyed have been lovely. Flavorful, filling, and while I wouldn't necessarily put them into the category of "gourmet", they are better than the average low carb recipe of cauliflower topped with cheddar cheese, or asparagus wrapped with bacon.

If you're stumped with your low carb cooking, are looking for some new inspiration, and do love seafood, then by all means -get your hands on this cookbook!

I purchased this after reading various reviews online. I am currently following a LCHF eating plan and I have heard this described as a must. I have not used it too often just yet but I read through it and the recipes contained within are all fantastic i am excited to really implement it.

Not a large book but every recipe is a winner! Don't do artificial sweetener so can't comment on desserts. Favorites are Pizza Quiche, Shepherds Pie, Lemon Thyme Pork, Turkey w/ Pesto and Mozzarella with tomato Garlic Cream Sauce, Pancetta Wrapped Salmon in Red Wine Sauce, Butter Chicken. This author knows how to cook and the recipes are loved by the whole family, not just those of us low-carbing.

For those of us with a low carb life style this is a must have. Uses ingredients most low carbers already have or are easy to find.Recipes are easy to follow. Prep and cook times fit in with a busy life.

I wanted anyone passing by to know that the original Low Carb Gourmet published in 2004 has been out of print for some time. An abbreviated, paperback edition was released for the UK that uses British measurements and is currently the only one available unless you can get a used hardcover copy.

I know a lot of people have been disappointed by this edition. I have no control over what booksellers sell and I'm sorry that not everyone is getting what they expected.
