The Man I Picked Up [Anglais] [Broché]

Picked this one up on a whim and just loved it. This is a series of stories centered around a men's club (although the last story is actually unrelated but still adorable). The story discussed in the book description is actually the third story in the book.

I've never been terribly good at summaries but I will give it a shot here.

Never Say Never

Michiya is recently divorced and lonely. His friend Tamaki, the owner of "Boys Club Garcon" likes to tease him a lot, but Michiya has stated very firmly that he would never be with a man. Tamaki offers him the use of his cabin but when Michiya gets there, instead of Tamaki, he finds the beautiful Sumio. The two of them get snowed in. Will Michiya succumb to his charms?

Stay The Way You Were

Housaku works at "Boy's Club Garcon" as a way to meet men. One night, Takano, his sempai (upperclassman) from high school (who he'd had a crush on), comes into the bar. Is this his chance to have a taste of the man he once loved?

The Man I Picked Up

Tamaki, the owner of "Boy's Club Garcon" finds a bruised and battered stranger in the street outside the club. He's instantly won over by the man's puppy dog eyes and ends up taking him in and giving him a job in the club. There's a mutual attraction, but will it lead to trouble or love?

The Man I Got Caught Up With

The follow up the The Man I Picked Up. Tamaki and Kouta have grown closer. Will Tamaki give in and finally admit his feelings?

Manly Me

Hanazono is the super macho manly man, captain of the Reijin High School Cheer Squad who lives by a strict Man Code. No getting a girlfriend! No illicit activities! When Takeo confesses his love for him and vows to bring him a boxed lunch every day to prove his love, he swears that he will not be tempted!

Manly Him

Sequel to Manly Me. Takeo has finally caught his man, but he's beginning to feel a little neglected. Are his feelings still one-sided? Meanwhile, Machio, captain of the neighboring school's cheer squad has decided he wants Takeo for himself.

Manly Them?

Another follow-up to Manly Me. Hanazono's underling Chin has a crush on underling Kitou. Kitou offers to help Chin while he recovers from his injuries, is this Chin's chance to confess?

Turtleneck

An extra to the "Manly" series. Kitou can't stop thinking about Chin...or his "turtleneck".

Both the Boy's Club and the Manly series are wonderful. The Boy's Club series is especially romantic with a side of humor, filled with some steamy sex scenes and Manly is more hilarious with a side of romance (and hot sex scenes). Both would make a wonderful edition to any yaoi collection. I highly recommend this manga to any yaoi fans!

If it's by C.J. Michalski then you know it's gotta be GOOD. And this is no exception!
The first three stories take place in a Boy's Club. They are very romantic and has their good share of pure man love! The last 3 are very short, funny, but flamin' good!
Can't wait for more by C.J. Michalski in the future!

Michalski-sensei's work sometimes leaves me wanting more. The stories tend to skim the surface and not delve too deep into backstory or character development, which is a shame since the story seems like it could have so much more. Still this was a fun read and I still buy anything with Michalski-sensei's name on it.
