The investment of time to read and gather knowledge about the Mediterranean Diet will quickly reveal it to be a very doable lifestyle change in as much as a diet. Flavors replace calories. Cooking goes from a chore to an adventure. They say it takes 28 days to make or break a habit and the rest is up to the individual. Nearly 10 pounds lighter in a months time was a really neat experience that I believe will stick.

Heart disease, diabetes, and high cholesterol run in my family so I am constantly looking for healthier ways to eat. In the past I thought that I would have to give up meals and cheeses. The Mediterranean diet proves that this is simply not the case. This book explains exactly what the Mediterranean diet is, how it works, and what many of the benefits of following this lifestyle are. It also breaks down the many components of the diet, such as meats, cheese and yogurt, and fish and shellfish, and explains what kinds of these items (and how much) are best. This is a great book for anyone who wants to live a healthier lifestyle without depriving themselves of the foods they love.

This is a unique book, the information was very information and well laid out. I appreciate the Dish Tricks and Tips section where the author provided information about what spices to use for this diet and information about olive oil and olives (valuable information)! The information provided in the What is included in the Mediterranean Diet is very useful. I think I can enjoy this diet and am excited to try it. I will be sharing the information with my friends.

I have been hearing and reading so much about this diet that I decided to give it a try. I was looking for some recipes but also some background info on why is it any good and the benefits and so on. This book helped greatly with that, from the first chapter I was able to learn what I wanted and even more and while there were not recipes per say, there were great details on the main ingredients which can be used to create my own dishes which is not bad, I would suggest people to read on if you are not familiar with this diet.

Originally, I’m a big fan of mediterranean food. It’s just this great blend of natural meats and fish, along with loads and loads of fruits and vegetables. There’s just so many health benefits to eating this way; it can explain why so many people in greece live long, healthy lives.

And so I’ve decided to download this one. The research done and the scientific claims stated by the author went through justifies how good this diet is. I’ll be bookmarking this book in the kitchen for some time. Thanks!
