Drivel & Jargon - the tools of con artists 21 juin 2012

Reading Sanchez and Heene trying to explain their concepts is like listening to a severely brain damaged pre-schooler trying to explain a complex theory of astrophysics with wax crayon drawings not fit for a fridge. It all ends in embarrassment and the hopeless despair of ignorance.

The authors simply do not know what they are talking about. Their attempts at flimsy academic nostrum are so appallingly poor because the authors neither understand the content, nor attempt to use any research whatsoever to provide even the most trivial modicum of a theoretical basis of argument.

If I lined my birdcage with this book, the birds would be too indignant even to sh_t on it.

A waste of time and money ($117!!!).

Neither New Nor Strategic 21 juin 2012
Par Floccinaucinihilipilification - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Relié
Sanchez & Heene make a dreadfully poor attempt to put a new spin on existing management theory with a puerile, crude and immature model of the organisation. They then attempt to dress it up in convoluted, pathetic jargon in a vain attempt to salvage some credibility. All for naught.

Superficially, the concept is interesting - attempting to approach strategy and operations management from an organisational (i.e. structure) perspective. However, this book never does more than complicate, convolute and bastardize existing, well-accepted clear strategy, operations and organisational concepts into a badly framed, poorly expressed hotchpotch of unnecessary absurdity, without adding anything new or interesting. Academics for the sake of academics. Business sense and real-world understanding seem to have no place in this farce of prattle.

In a 305-page reference book, the index is only 3 pages and many key topics are not even noted in the index. Absolutely pathetic. It just shows how professionally careless and lazy the authors and editors are.

Unfortunately, Amazon does not permit negative stars, because this book actively diminishes your knowledge rather than adding to it.
