Pros: The exercises are explained well.
Love how there is an exercise schedule.

Cons: Having to use an exercise ball.

In my case, the cons outweigh the pros simply because I cannot bring an exercise ball into work rendering quite a few of the exercises listed useless.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 An Excellent Book for anyone stuck at a desk all day 18 juin 2014

I ran across this title and thought about it. I do spend hours stuck at a desk and at times, just want to break up the monotony so I picked up this gem. I was blown away. This book is written from the heart and the author has first hand knowledge of the importance of exercise. Kent Burden spent 9 months in a wheelchair, paralyzed from the waist down from a football injury while in college. After months of rehabilitation, Kent was able to walk again and has never looked back. His path to physical fitness was forged during that time. With that passion, Kent teaches the same techniques that helped him get into the best shape of his life.

This isn't one of those, "Do as I say, not as I do" Rather it is, "Look at what I have accomplished and you can too!" As an author of several books on physical fitness, Kent is always looking for opportunities to help advance the benefits of exercising for the average person out there. And this book is a testament to that commitment.

On top of that, after checking out his website, I discovered that Kent Burden is certified as a AFAA Advanced Personal Trainer Certification, AFAA and IFPA Personal Trainer Certification, AFAA Primary Group Fitness Certification, Physical Mind Institute Pilates Instructor Certification, Master Wellness Coach Certification – The Wellness Evolution, Spa 100-Hour Yoga Certification. Balanced Body Pilates Certification. Stott Pilates Certification, Yogafit Training Systems International, Yoga Instructor Training, Levels I & II, Training the Trainers, Fitness Ball Certification, Halcyon Center Massage Therapist Certification, Johnny G Spinning Certification, West International Water Fitness Certification, Biosensory Systems Systematic Touch Trainer Certification. This guy has made a major commitment to mastering the art of physical fitness and I love his passion for it. He serves as an inspiration to anyone on the road to a better, healthier life.

I was looking for a book to give me a few tips on how to take a little break from working at the desk. What I found was a book written with humor, intelligence, wisdom, and insight on how to change not only my life and health but my mind as well. This book is a gem and I am grateful to have found it. This book and more importantly, this author is someone I can highly recommend.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Amazing Book, Meaty, Packed With Exercises You Can Do Anywhere 25 juin 2014

WOW. This is a unique book, in that the exercises here can be done while working
AND more importantly without disturbing anyone in your workplace.
Some of the exercises can be done without the people around you even being aware
that you're doing them.

These exercises can be done while at work, while commuting/traveling for long hours,
anytime, anywhere. The exercises target upper body, lower body, and even your back.
This makes sure you are fit, it increases your metabolism, burns more fat, and keeps you
healthy and reduces cardiovascular risks and other diseases.

There is very little fluff, and the info is all meat, something you can use RIGHT NOW even
as you read this book.

Overall, this book is excellent, I will certainly use a lot of the exercises from it.
Kent Burden knows what he's talking about, and highly recommend this book.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 A Great Resource For All Office Workers Out There 25 juin 2014

If you're like me you spend a great deal of time sitting in a chair in front of a computer. For most of us this is the unavoidable result of living in the modern world. The problem is that we were not meant to be so sedentary, we were meant to move. But what can you do if you're stuck in front of a computer for a third of your day?
If you are feeling the wear and tear on your body that the inactivity of office work often causes this book just might be for you. The author outlines a number of simple workout programs that are designed to be done quickly and easily in the office environment. Upper body, lower body and back exercises are included. My favorite though are the sneaky exercises that you can do in your chair without anyone actually knowing that you're exercising. Recommended.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Good inspiration... 28 août 2014

Great suggestions but I didn't end up using the workouts as listed much. For one thing there is no way I am putting that resistance band on a door in my office. There's no door that would work. Also I'm not comfortable lying down for exercises at work--the floor is not cleaned regularly at all and I'm the front door receptionist. It's awkward for everyone if I'm on the floor when someone walks in. However, I did take all the healthy back exercises and sketch them onto 3x5 cards and then scavenged through for other exercises and then used yoga poses to fill in the gaps so I have 5-6 exercises listed on 6 cards per day each of which takes a minute or less and I'm loving that idea. However I would have greatly appreciated if the suggested regime of exercises at the end was either a brief summary (1 sentence or less) or a small graphic image rather than just the name so I wouldn't have to flip through to find each exercise where it was originally explained. Or hyperlink it in the kindle version. Anyway, I'm giving it 3 stars because it inspired me and had some good tips.
