I've been primal for almost 4 years and I've lost close to 100lbs, my story is featured in The Primal Blueprint updated and expanded edition. I've managed to maintain my loss for 3 years but what I have found is that if I don't document my food then I'm susceptible to weight gain. This journal has helped me to form better habits and dedicate the time needed that it takes to look after your health, it's a form of accountability and you can use it as an excellent reflection tool to see where you've gone right or maybe gone wrong. I'm a long time journal user and I just wish this had of been around when I started my journey, I'm loving using it because it's so comprehensive and isn't just about tracking food, it includes all the other areas of primal life!

If you don't have the primal blueprint book and don't care about the science aspect you could just pick up this journal and learn all the basics, it really is worth every penny and I can tell that Mark and his team have put a great deal of effort into creating such a unique journal.

This is a great tool for self-experimentation. It's well designed so that you can monitor your results based on actual parameters. It's customizable, too. You can use what you want and ignore what doesn't apply to your "test". After deciding on one or two "tests", you determine the type of measurements and subjective data that would be appropriate for your personal experiment. Measurements are retaken at 30, 60 and 90 day intervals. There's even a place for blood tests, if that should be part of your measurements. In the back is a synopsis of the Primal Blueprint with PB exercises, too. I've found this journal to be very helpful and fun. I must warn you though- if you're looking for the typical diet-calorie log book, this isn't it. But counting and measuring is hardly primal is it? - and this is the Primal Blueprint Journal not a WW or Nutrisys. concoction.

I bought the journal after learning about primal living on [...] (Mark Sisson's website and blog). I've found it to be very useful in organizing and recording the changes I've made in how I eat, shop, and live my life. (Yes, it does have more room than I need to record workouts.) One thing I like is that it prompts me to include other elements of primal living - like getting daily sunshine, or spending time in activities that are mentally stimulating or just plain fun. It also lets me sum up the day and set goals for the next as well as the week and month.

It also includes several sections for experimenting to find out what works best for me. Since the Primal Blueprint is not a one-size-fits-all program, there is some latitude in applying the basic concepts. This has been helpful for me to sift through the options available and determine what gets the results I want by deciding on an experiment and then recording the results. I think this is valuable because not everyone has the exact same needs and there are tons of opinions out there about what works based on differences in age, gender, fitness level, etc.

I have not yet read The Primal Blueprint, though I've done a lot of reading on the blog. The journal includes enough fundamental concepts that I was able to tweak my actions to get better results. Especially if you like journalling or want to get started with it, I have found this to be a good and useful product.

I have just gone "Primal" this week and did not want to do it without having somewhere to track how I was going. I bought the journal and was excited to see that it not only included the daily space to write everything down, it had all the Primal basics it there as well so I did not have to keep referring back to the main book. It is also great to get a baseline of information and set goals. This journal had all that and was really easy to setup.

I also love that it is a daily reminder of the other stuff we need to be aware of like stress, sleep and sun. I plan to write in it daily and am excited to see my progress. I am feling better in myself already after only a week.

I highly recommend this journal and am very glad I got it! I look forward to writing in it every day! Well done Mark.

For each day there is a page for food/metrics/comments and another page for workouts. The workouts section is very detailed. The food section is not. Basically a very small area of lines for you to write your foods down but not really list them out and add numbers if you wanted to. I would have liked to see a bigger spread for the food portion.

A big part of the book is that it lets you set experiments on yourself but I feel like it doesn't tie in to the everyday information other than a little check box.

I really wanted to use this and have it work for me but I'm not a heavy lifter and don't want to count sets/weights/reps...

So its very limited on the food and habits portion and more heavy on the workouts area. Which is funny because I love his other books and they are the opposite. Primal Blueprint says to not work out so much and to just focus on your eating habits.

I highly recommend the Primal Blueprint, not the 90 day journal though.
