Présentation de l'éditeur

"It’s our thesis that privacy will be an integral part
of the next wave in the technology revolution and that innovators who are
emphasizing privacy as an integral part of the product life cycle are on the
right track." --The authors of The Privacy Engineer's Manifesto

The Privacy Engineer's Manifesto: Getting from Policy to
Code to QA to Value
is the first book of its kind, offering industry-proven
solutions that go beyond mere theory and adding lucid perspectives on the
challenges and opportunities raised with the emerging “personal” information economy.

The authors, a uniquely skilled team of longtime industry
experts, detail how you can build privacy into products, processes,
applications, and systems.  The book
offers insight on translating the guiding light of OECD Privacy Guidelines, the
Fair Information Practice Principles (FIPPs), Generally Accepted Privacy
Principles (GAPP) and Privacy by Design (PbD) into concrete concepts that
organizations, software/hardware engineers, and system administrators/owners can
understand and apply throughout the product or process life cycle—regardless of
development methodology—from inception to retirement, including data deletion
and destruction.

In addition to providing practical methods to applying privacy
engineering methodologies, the authors detail how to prepare and
organize an enterprise or organization to support and manage products, process,
systems, and applications that require personal information. The authors also address how to
think about and assign value to the personal information assets being
protected.  Finally, the team of experts offers thoughts about the information revolution that has only just begun, and how we
can live in a world of sensors and trillions of data points without losing our
ethics or value(s).... and even have a little fun.

The Privacy Engineer's Manifesto is designed to serve
multiple stakeholders: Anyone who is involved in designing, developing,
deploying and reviewing products, processes, applications, and systems that
process personal information, including software/hardware engineers, technical
program and product managers, support and sales engineers, system integrators,
IT professionals, lawyers, and information privacy and security professionals.  This book is a must-read for
all practitioners in the personal information economy.

Privacy will be an integral part of the next wave in the
technology revolution; innovators who emphasize privacy as an integral
part of the product life cycle are on the right track.

Foreword by Dr. Eric Bonabeau, PhD, Chairman, Icosystem,
Inc. & Dean of Computational Sciences, Minerva Schools at KGI.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Not extremely concrete 4 mai 2014

Although good in certain areas, I am missing some concrete advise on how to handle privacy. There's too much high-level talk and little down to earth.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 A MUST Read 17 février 2014
Par Lisa - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format:Broché
First let me say this is a MUST Read. It is put together in a ease of use manner. Gives flexibility to imagine/implement into ANY organization. You can tell just by all the information in this book that THESE authors have the experience within large and small organizations to really know what works and I am referring everyone in my networking circle read this book. It is a important read and really allows for the most common sense to be pulled from within you and get rid of "The suits with dirty underwear" that claim to know what is up with privacy! Michelle, Jonathan and Tom NAILED IT!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Finally, a book with substance for making a difference in the field of privacy 4 février 2014

This is the book that I have been looking for, for a long time. Most books in this area are too legal-specific or do not provide actionable frameworks or models for engineering privacy honoring solutions into products and services. Not only are the models discussed in this book actionable, they are explained with examples that take into consideration different requirements of different organizations. Whether a mobile app developer or managing privacy in a large corporation (or both), there is something for everyone in this book.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 It makes privacy itself a subject to learn about not just laws... 19 juillet 2014

The best book for IT security and IT engineers-and-support to learn about privacy. It makes privacy itself a subject to learn about rather than the overwhelming numbers of laws and regulations to support it.

This applies to many fields and businesses as business computer usage and Internet connected services and products make privacy an important specialty that is weakly understood today.
5.0 étoiles sur 5 Clairvoyant Resource – I Give The Privacy Engineer’s Manifesto My Highest Recommendation. 19 juillet 2014
Par Sameer Singh Somal - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format:Broché
Within the sea of books attempting to provide a technology and privacy framework, The Privacy Engineer’s Manifesto stands alone. Candidly, it is refreshing to find an entire book that focuses on providing simplification and understanding to what can be a complex amalgamation of issues and variables. The text is thorough and resourceful.

Dennedy, Fox, and Finneran write with passion and purpose. The authors find a way to integrate concepts, relationships, knowledge, and ideas; they have organized the text into smaller topics so it is not overwhelming. Their use of an expansive set of visuals to support their text is exemplary.

The book helped me gain tangible clarity; I no longer have ambiguity on core privacy concepts. I would recommend this book to all people looking cogent contextual intelligence on the evolution of technology privacy policy today and tomorrow.

The breath and depth of information in this book is great. This is a critical area where real advancements are needed. This book addresses the topic better than any source I've seen. Great job!
