This was not an easy decision for me. Logic argued with me that The Quest did not deserve a perfect rating. Logic told me the characters are rather shallow and that the book itself did not have very much substance to it. In the end, however, I threw logic right out the window and realized exactly for what The Quest was written. As far as entertainment goes, it does not get much better than this.

Unlike I normally do, I will be fairly brief in my description of the plot. The reason for this being to give too much away would dilute the fun that comes while reading it. All I will say is that the story opens with mysterious deaths of members that have ties to a powerful cult. A suspect is wanted for his murder, and that man's name is Michael Gill. Gill is a specialist in the field of symbology. Gill is innocent, but the police are not so sure. As the police are getting ready to take him in for questioning, he escapes with an old freind named Joe. Joe explains the horrific dilemma they are in and together they are now fugitives on the run. Underlying the murders of members of a mysterious cult, and the Catholic Church. All of which seemed to be interconnected in these murders, and the murders of three other high ranking individuals. Now, it is up to Joe and Gill to crack the case before the police find them. Besides the police, even more powerful people are after them and will do anything necessary to obtain the knowledge they desire, even to the point of killing others, if needed. The rest of the story is filled with twists and turns I will not reveal.

All of the rumors you may have heard concerning this novel are true. The book reads at a lighting quick pace, leaving you no time to catch your breath at the end of every chapter. Giorgio is a genius when it comes to leaving cliffhangers in order to push the reader to keep on reading. It becomes near the point of obsession and I swore there were times that I could not put down this book. The premise and plot are very original. There are plenty of twists and turns. The story is always fascinating, captivating, and addicting. I'm normally not a huge fan of mystery novels but this one is definitely a big notch above the rest of them I have read.

Okay, so I know the profundity is not there. The characters are all pretty weak as far as being layered and their depth is concerned. Despite how original it is, the story still follows the traditional mystery formula. I doubt the book is going to be an inspiration for years to come. The book does contain the element of controversy, however. I might imagine a few Catholics and Christians a bit ticked off due to the ideas presented here. If they are, then they miss the point of the whole story. That is, it is only a story and nothing else.

So, who cares about logic in this instance? The Quest does exactly what it was intended for; to keep us entertained. It does it better than most books out there. It fulfills the purpose it was created for and for that it deserves to be recognized as a great mystery novel. Also, I want to mention the startling amount of research Giorgio has put into this book. The research alone is a significant accomplishment, plus throw in one hell of an entertaining story and you have the precise formula for success.

So go on, forget about meaningful and profound books for a while and just go have some fun. There are many famous authors who have tipped their cap to Giorgio and his ability to spin yarns that you have to pull from the sweater just to see where they go.

Une fois que je commençais ce livre extraordinaire, je ne pourrais pas le mettre vers le bas. Ce livre est tellement plus qu'un récit à suspense passionnant de suspens. Giorgio Kostantino nous prend au delà de la parcelle de terrain principale et nous mène sur une recherche pour les secrets d'Éden - un secret totalement à la différence de quelque chose nous avons été enseignés à croire. Avec son recherche impeccable, M. Kostantino nous présente aux aspects et aux interprétations de l'histoire et du christianisme occidentaux lesquelles I, pour un, n'avait jamais su existé... ou même pensé. I trouvé, à contrecoeur, laissant le roman, et à maintes reprises, allant en ligne à la recherche de Giorgio de recherches - trouver seulement un nouveau monde des possibilités historiques s'ouvrant pour moi. Et ma "recherche" pour la connaissance et les réponses aux questions que les poses de livre, mise en parallèle, dans un sens, la recherche des caractères principaux du livre. Quel voyage ! Quel lu ! Un meurtre violent est commis. Qui est également la tête d'une société secrète remarquable, est trouvé mort et horriblement placé sur le plancher. Dans les minutes avant qu'il soit mort, cet homme très complexe pouvait laisser des indices, par sa mort, pour leur dire finalement ce qu'il a voulu pour se fier à elles tandis qu'il vivait. La société secrète a inclus une myriade de membres. Ces gens vraiment ont appartenu à cette société, qui a vraiment existé ! C'est quand j'ai commencé la première fois mon recherche en ligne. Le mystère, ou les mystères, nous rapportent par les quatre coins du globe et loin à temps. Nous nous renseignons sur les secrets et le symbolisme dans plusieurs des reliques saintes les plus prisées du monde, aussi bien que le symbolisme architectural dans certaines des églises les plus sacrées de l'histoire. Naturellement, nous apprenons également qui a commis le meurtre et pourquoi - bien que ceci soit presque secondaire à côté du vrai mystère épique que le roman découvre. S'il y a des pailles dans la parcelle de terrain, j'en étais lecture trop occupée pour découvrir. C'est probablement le signe d'un livre terrible ! L'écriture est excellente et les caractères sont-ils un peu du côté de super-hero/heroine, mais qui s'inquiète ? Est ce qui ce livre propose vrai ? Bien, la recherche est correcte. Les événements et les personnes historiques explorés dans le livre sont vrais. Mais personne ne sait la vérité... ni la volonté nous jamais, probablement. Je pense que quelques choses sont censées pour être un mystère. Avec les religions diverses de tout le monde et la croyance de chaque individu dans ce qui est divine - la vérité devrait détruire la croyance, les espoirs et les vies de beaucoup de la population du monde. Ainsi, peut-être, dans l'arrangement divin des choses, il y a beaucoup plus de vérités qu'une. Ne prenez pas le livre trop sérieusement. Justes lus lui et apprécient ! Merci, Sharron :)
