Présentation de l'éditeur

When Emma O'Reilly joined the US Postal cycling team in 1996, she could have had no idea how she would become a central figure in the biggest doping scandal in sporting history. Yet when Lance Armstrong, starting his comeback from cancer, signed for US Postal, it was Emma, the only woman on the team, who became his personal soigneur. This is the definitive inside story of that time, and of the enormous repercussions that resonate to this day for Emma, Lance and the whole sport.

Emma had the strength to break cycling's omerta by speaking out against the culture of doping. She thought she would be one of many whistleblowers, doing what she believed was right. Isolated and shunned by the sport she loved, however, her reputation was systematically destroyed. And yet she had the courage to bounce back, and remarkably, to forgive those who made her existence a living hell. This is the ultimate memoir of truth and its many consequences.

An amazingly forgiving woman who has shown us insight into a different aspect of the LA story. While he cannot be forgiven, Emma describes a man who was "hooked" on winning and the accolades, fame, fortune and adulation his adoring fans heaped on him. A recipe so many stucco to.

A thoroughly readable expose of the life behind the headlines. Ms O'Reilly's honest and direct story is compelling and uplifting as it charts the downfall of the greatest modern sporting lie, her unique perspective on it, and her part in it. Highly recommended and a genuine page turner.

An unsophisticated account of the murky world of cycling by a naive participant. Although her evidence was circumstancial, she certainly caused the lid to be lifted on Team US Postal and LA's doping. What is clear is that she was used by author DW to back up his book by devious means and that the controlling bodies of cycling and the TDF knew and covered up the endemic doping in the sport.

It may be an inconvenient truth, but every winner of the TDF from Coppi to Contador should be disqaulified because of doping; not just LA, Landis and Contador.

I had hoped against hope that LA was genuine and his downfall was a huge shock. But in the end he deserves credit for using his success to benefit others through his philantrophic activities.

EA is a gutsy lady and her book is essential reading in the unfolding revelations about doping in sport. Highly recommended.

Love the way Emma stuck to her guns and stood up to the cheating that went on. She was so bullied but showed great strenght, a really good read
