Why Right-Brainers will Rule the World, With Help From J.Lee 17 février 2011
Par Luna Jaffe, CFP, MA - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
Those of us that live in the world of big ideas, creative collaboration and dream of using our passion to fund our dreams now have a drivers manual. Jennifer Lee has written and illustrated a book that teaches fun, innovative processes for developing your business plan of action. Unlike many books written for creatives, this book was actually designed for right-brainers! Ideas are offset by examples of how Lee's clients/students interpreted the instructions, and success stories are scattered throughout. I delight in Lee's use of language and feel like I'm sitting in the room with her rather than reading a book. Her voice is playful, encouraging and unique. There are so many good ideas in this book that I want to take a five day leave of absence from work, turn off the phone, send the family away, and hole up in my studio to devour and delve into every page and exercise. I can't recommend this book highly enough! Even if you never create a business plan, you will be inspired to open up to new possibilities, resources, perspectives and most importantly, find ways to make money doing what you love most.

A GODSEND FOR CREATIVE TYPES 10 mars 2011
Par M. Ewert - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
I'm a creative person (& left-handed to boot!) - and I get overwhelmed super easily. But I'm also super ambitious. How to bridge these two sides of myself? Um, THIS BOOK.

Jennifer Lee is a GODDESS who gives you a whole toy-box full of clever tools that you'll actually be chomping at the bit to play with!

I can't say enough how about how grateful I am that this book & methodology exists. I would have ditched ALL of my goals for 2010 if I hadn't had my own homemade Right Brain Business Plan. And 2011 is already off to a 100% success rate, thanks to THIS year's RB Business Plan.

One other thing I'll add: this book is VERY practical. It *doesn't* tell you to dream big and to then go hug a lollipop tree.
It DOES tell you how to get in touch with your dreams, and then how to FOLLOW THROUGH ON THEM with very pleasurable versions of what more left-brain sources call 'marketing', 'research,' 'financial plan,' etc. Seriously, this book is chockfull of immensely practical skills, tools & principles, but they're all made fun as hell.

Anyway- I'd write more - but I want to get back to my creative projects!

Finally a Book for Creative Thinkers Who are Entrepreneurs 11 mars 2011
Par Amazon Customer - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Format Kindle Achat vérifié
This book was such an eye opener for me. I never realized why I had such a hard time with business plans and marketing, etc. (and I majored in Business Admin/Marketing) This book allows me to be creative while planning my business. It is a fun way to do the tedious tasks of running a business. If you find the tasks of running your business difficult, read this book and see if it sounds like fun. I know I can't wait to create mine. I read through the whole book in 1 day. I participated in the Right Brain Business Plan Video Summit and now I'm ready to get started.

A Breath of Fresh Air 8 juillet 2012
Par Mr. Evan Hadkins - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché Achat vérifié
This book takes you through the process of starting a business from idea to implementation. It is clear, engaging and enjoyable.

It helps get beyond the dullness of the usual business plan into visual activities. If you are someone who feels stifled by the usual tedium of business plans this is probably the book you have been looking for. Through collage, drawing and visualisation it gets you to the stuff you need to know what you need to know about starting and monitoring your business.

It is an easier and more stimulating approach to the traditional business plan. If you are looking for a different approach to business then this isn't the book for you. What it is, is a more enjoyable way to do your business plan.

In the kindle edition the text can be expanded but not the text in the illustrations. This means that some of it is difficult to read. This doesn't interfere much with the usefulness of the book, but it is certainly annoying. Buy the hard copy.

Finally - a business book for creative people 24 février 2011
Par Marilyn Dalrymple - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
It is often difficult for a creative person to also be a business person, but it is absolutely necessary if the creative person wants to be successful. I found a book written just for those who want to create, but to also wish to be financially successful. Yes - you can do both.

The Right-Brain Business Plan: A Creative, Visual Map for Success by Jennifer Lee is written with the artist in mind. She uses lots of colorful, fun illustrations and projects, but also gives solid, proven advice on how to grow a successful business by doing what you love.

Lee discusses:

Getting the word out

Getting a clear financial picture

Creating a "Moola Map"

Defining goals, strategies and action steps

And many more areas. Each assignment shows the reader how to make the steps visual and active. No boring spreadsheets here. She uses sticky notes, colors, paper, pictures, boxes, etc., etc. Business can be fun, and it is also neat to receive pay checks for doing what you love to do.

I'm off to figure out some marketing strategies for It's Tough Growing Up: Children's Stories of Courage.
