Présentation de l'éditeur

Because cancer affects everyone—family, friends or neighbors—"The Woman Who Cured Cancer" by Edmond G. Addeo, subtitled "The Remarkable Story of Dr. Virginia Livingston-Wheeler," offers hope and solace to that certain cancer victim we all know. The book is a detailed yet easy to follow account of Dr. Virginia's discovery of a "cancer microbe" and her subsequent battles with the Establishment, even as her groundbreaking treatment therapies were bringing remissions to thousands of patients in the last half of the 20th century. The book also surveys current research in universities and institutions around the country that duplicate Dr. Virginia's once-denounced vaccine- and nutrition-based treatments, and which are available to the public.Dr. Virginia (1906-1990) was graduated from New York University-Bellevue Medical College in 1936 as one of only four women in her class, and became the first woman medical resident in New York City. She published scores of technical papers on her discovery in respected journals, and for decades she treated the immune systems of cancer patients in her San Diego clinic, where Mr. Addeo worked closely with her.Every family in America needs to be aware of the information in this book.Only $0.99 as an eBook available on all platforms, or on Amazon as print-on-demand.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Dr. Virginia's theories being corroborated globally 25 avril 2012
Par J. Bires - Publié sur Amazon.com

As a victim of prostate cancer, I thought I knew of all the research going on, but I was happy to find this book kept its promise of providing new information for all cancer patients. I was especially excited to read about new vaccines being FDA-approved and how Dr. Virginia's theories are being corroborated all over the world. I wish I had known about her clinic when I was first diagnosed. Cancer-fighting BroccoSprouts at my local Safeway? Who knew?

This book is a rare gem. Did this woman cure cancer? Addeo makes a strong case that she did, and that the evidence against Dr. Virginia Livingston-Wheeler is more opinion than fact. And, to solidify his argument he points out that mainstream science is increasingly "rediscovering" what Dr. Virginia knew all along -- diet, vitamins, and vaccines are important.

The book contains fascinating glimpses into the hinterlands of cancer research. Much of the narrative is based on Addeo's interviews with Dr. Virginia and tells the story of early cancer research from her point of view. Check out the history of the "bacteria" premise for yourself. You will find, working quietly in the background, that scientists from many angles have been investigating the notion of a bacterial origin of cancer since the late 1800s. And their publications appear increasingly in mainstream journals. Do a "Google Scholar" search for (mycoplasma oncogene). It goes on and on.

The bottom line is the message of hope for cancer patient and their families. Addeo has republished his personal observations in their original format: 62 case histories based on his telephone interviews of cancer patients who had received treatment at the Livingston-Wheeler clinic from 1972-81. The observations are scientifically valuable. As a science writer with a sharp eye for detail, Addeo argues strongly for the efficacy of Dr. Virginia's "hands-on" treatment that he witnessed in a clinical setting and with real patients.

Ed Addeo's painstakingly researched account of the cancer microbe discovery by "Dr. Virginia" shook the medical world when it was first published. This new edition is just as relevant today, especially since so many practitioners and institutions have since followed her path. For anyone with a family member or loved ones suffering from cancer, the updated version of "The Woman Who Cured Cancer" is more than a must read; it can literally offer the gift of extended life.

The search for cancer cures has gone on so long that for many types of cancer there seems to be no hope. Yes, there are long-term remissions in some breast, kidney, prostate, even brain cancers. But it's painfully obvious that for the pancreas, lungs, etc. the usual surgery, radiation, and chemo (drugs) are largely ineffective. Science writer Ed Addeo (full disclosure: I've known him for many years, professionally) has brought Dr. Livington's work into full focus -- without sensationalizing, with great care to avoid the pitfall of blaming the "establishment" for lack of progress. Yes, it's true that the huge amount of money invested by, say, the American Cancer Society in contracts with university researchers (the "establishment") rarely supports individual scientists like Dr. Livingston -- simply because they are not in the "mainstream." This has been true of pioneers throughout the history of science. Will this book reverse this trend, and take the blinders off traditional university and drug-company research? Not likely, but for anyone with cancer this book offers plenty of hope -- in treatment that can be achieved without offending one's personal physician or specialist. Mr. Addeo presents the evidence in layman's language, but with thoroughness of detail. Key elements: (1) a tumor is not the cause of a cancer, only its effect (removing it is not "getting it all") The immune system contains the cause. (2) The prevailing idea that cancer is the result of a virus is eroded with each new study these days, yet scientists have been reluctant to posit a bacterium as the cause because of a simple misunderstanding of the distinction between a virus and a bacterium (size). (3) treatment should start with simple dietary changes that promote a self-generating vaccine. This last thought causes the 'establishment' to go ballistic: diet again? Autogenous vaccines again? As Dr. Livingston made clear, removing a large tumor through surgery is, of course, helpful, but radiation is often counter-productive when a simpler approach is risk-free. Chemotherapy is also often just a shot in the dark. But read the book! The most up-to-date research is also presented here to back up the Livingston story. If you have a family member, friend or even remote acquaintance diagnosed with cancer of any kind, buy this book for him or her. Don't wait for the massive cancer research-contract-oceanliner to turn around in mid ocean.

and at the same time very frustrating. It's all about money isn't it? And I have to write one more word.
