HASH(0xdc39cf14) étoiles sur 5 A fan for life 24 octobre 2001
Par Brent Laird - Publié sur Amazon.com

Pat Green is simply the best. "Three Days" may be his first album with a record label, but for me it is just the latest of many great albums, and I hope the tradition continues. I've been hooked since I heard "Dancehall Dreamer" way back in '96, and I've always wondered why Pat wasn't a big star, well now I know he's on his way. The re-release of "Southbound 35"(my favorite song from the first time I heard it), with its new music, has helped me believe that the new record deal will only allow Pat's music to get better and better. The duets with Willie Nelson and Trish Murphy, as well as "Texas On My Mind" give me goosebumps, and help restore my faith that country music hasn't gone pop. Pat writes and sings with his soul, he lays it all out on the table and lets the people feel what he feels. I'm forever grateful to have grown up in Waco, where I had a chance to hear Pat and love his music. So Pat, if you ever read this, you've got a fan for life. I know I speak for all the others when I say I wish you the best, and whether you draw 50 or 50,000, I'll be there. Carry on my friend, carry on.

Being a long time Pat Green fan, word of his new "Nashville" contract kinda worried me. But I kept the faith, and Pat has not let me or his dozens :) of fans down. This new album completely rocks. It contains seven songs that long time fans would already know and might question their re-release. However, Pat has put together new arrangements of all of them, and I think they're all better than the originals. The most surprising one to me was the all-new Southbound 35 (number 12 on the new cd). This has always been my favorite Pat song, and has been renewed due to it's revamped rockin' style. A new favorite (running a close second behind Southbound) is Threadbare Gypsy Soul (number two on the new cd), a duet with the legendary Willie Nelson. This song is pure Texas Country. Nice and mellow, and classic Pat Green. Pat said he wrote this one while thinkin about Willie's shoes and all they had seen and the places they had been. VERY COOL! That's about it for my review. For all those old Pat friends, the new one is just as good, if not BETTER than all of his other cds. For those who don't yet know about Pat, get this cd and you will soon understand. WATCH OUT NASHVILLE, HERE COMES TEXAS!

As a long time fan of Pat Green's songwriting, I'm dissapointed that "Three Days" will be his introduction to mainstream country. Unfortunately, Pat has strayed a long, long way from his Texas country roots and real songs about Texas, honky tonks, beer, and life in general. While still better than most pop "country" artists like Tim McGraw or Bryan White, Pat's new album reeks of over-production and Nashville slickness that seems to be targeted at. Its the same thing that happened to Charlie Robison. The best songs on Three Days are all redos (Southbound 35) or re-releases of songs already recorded (Carry On), but the sound style has definitely changed from his first albums. If you're looking for real Texas country, pick up one of Pat's two live albums (Live at Gruene Hall, or Live at Billy Bob's). All long time fans of Pat support him and wish him the best, but he's gone too far for too long from the style that made him popular. Good luck to Pat, but right now I'd rather listen to Cory Morrow and Owen Temple.

A great CD for any occasion. A CD that can be put in your car for a long road trip and listened to over and over again. The positive outlook on life that exemplifies Pat Green and his songwriting talent are evident. This CD succeeds in representing what Texas music is all about. The song "Threadbare Gypsy Soul" is a duet with the great Willie Nelson, one of Pat's heroes. The title track is a great song that speaks to anyone that has ever had to be away from the one that they care about most. This song strikes a chord with those that have gone through a long distance relationship. This CD combines the songs that were only available locally with the 6 new songs that show Pat's continuing growth as a songwriter. I highly recommend this CD to anyone that is looking to find what country music is supposed to sound like. One of the best CD's that I have heard in a long time.

HASH(0xdc3a44f8) étoiles sur 5 Tim McGraw meets Charlie Robison! 2 décembre 2001
Par DanD - Publié sur Amazon.com

As a non-native of Texas, I'd never heard of Pat Green until he released "Carry On", the first song on this amazing album. The song is about going through life, and...Well, carrying on!
The rest of the album is as great as the first single. "Threadbare Gypsy Soul", while having a strange title, is a nice duet with Willie Nelson. "Three Days" is a nice, guitar-honed ballad, while "Who's To Say" will get you dancin' and put you in a good mood ('Who's to say/Who are you to judge me anyway/This is my road/I take the corners fast as I can go'). "Gallerywinter" and "Wrong Side of Town" (a duet with Trish Murphy) will delight Charlie Robison fans (as I am). "We've All Got Our Reasons" puts Green back in the mainstream country area, as does "Whiskey." "Crazy" looks at life through happy eyes--maybe those of young lovers, or just an upbeat, optimistic person. "Take Me Out To a Dancehall" is coutnry all the way, while "Count Your Blessing" (It's a hush my mouth/Land sake alive/I don't believe that fishermen smell the same when they die/Never put the cart before the horse/Unless he know's how to push it of course) borders on bluegrass, without going all the way. "Southbound 65" is a rockin' good song, filled with enough electric guitar to make you forget about the lack of it on "Count Your Blessings." The final song, "Texas On My Mind," sounds like it was made to be a radio hit. All of the songs on here have the potential to propel Green into superstar status. And don't forget about his songwriting--Green's right up there with the greatest singer/songwriters. Maybe he's the new singer/songwriter for the 21st century. Whatever he is or isn't, Pat Green IS a great country act, and you'll love his debut CD, "Three Days."
