Présentation de l'éditeur

After a tragic accident leaves her battered, heartbroken, and alone, Scout Donovan would rather hide in dreams than face reality. But things are changing quickly in Scout's life. Soon she's pulled back into the world of Shifters and Seers, with her best friend's fate depending on Scout's ability to protect her. Can Scout pull it together in time to save Talley, or is the past too much to overcome?

Praise for Time Mends:

“Stunning! I didn’t think it was possible to love Time Mends even more than Destiny Binds, but add action, political intrigue and mounds of suspense to the witty dialogue and loveable characters and you’ve got a sure fire winner on your hands!”
-Samantha Young, author of Moon Spell

“A brilliant display of talent.”
-Jackie at The Book Whisperer

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Gripping, Emotional and Action-Packed Sequel. An Awesome Read! 2 janvier 2012

The second installment in Tammy Blackwell's Timber Wolves trilogy is one word: stunning. I didn't think it possible to love Time Mends even more than Destiny Binds, but add action, political intrigue and mounds of suspense to the witty dialogue and loveable characters and you've got a sure fire winner on your hands.

Time Mends sweeps the reader up into the story just after the shocking events at the end of book one (I'm giving no Alex spoilers away... you'll have to read the book to find out what happens there :-p). I think my favourite thing about book two is Scout's character development. She works through her heartbreak and all the unbelievable discoveries she encounters about herself and the shifter world and matures and changes without losing that innate, sarky, quirky Scout that made her so likeable in book one. Now she's even stronger, more vulnerable but determined not to be, more determined to be determined, and as loyal as ever. The relationships between the magical foursome that is Scout, Charlie, Talley and Jase strengthens in Time Mends and by the end of book two my emotions had been so pressed and pretzeled by them my mouth was left hanging open with another NOOOOOOOO! Where is book three?!! I need it NOW!
The characterization may have been my favourite thing about the Timber Wolves trilogy but the plot and worldbuilding have shot into equal position with Time Mends. It's action-packed, fast-paced, entertaining, addictive and completely intriguing. I was kept guessing throughout the entire book by the many twists and turns and I still have loads of questions. Love it! In fact I loved everything about this book.
Awesome! A rare treat that book two should be even better than the first!
A definite, must read,

Cannot wait for book 3!

What you really want to know is if this book as great as the first one - DEFINITELY!!! You don't want spoilers and you don't want analysis - you want to know if Scout is still amazing, if Alex is in the story and if Talley, Charlie and Jase are mentioned. Yes to all!!! This is a must read!

The theme of this book is "change". Scout's graduation speech is about change. Scout goes through "the Change". Scout's relationships have changed. Change is defined in the story: Change. A verb. To make different.

Blackwell also kept the spirit of Alex alive (so well done!) and continued to give HOPE that he might be still alive (fingers strongly crossed!). This was a personal relief to me.

I highly, highly, highly recommend this author and wait anxiously for fall 2012 for the third installment. If you haven't read Destiny Binds (Timber Wolves), go now and do it! Other books I would recommend similar to this one are: Brightest Kind of Darkness, YA Paranormal Romance (Brightest Kind of Darkness Series, Book #1) by P.T. Michelle, Shiver (Wolves of Mercy Falls) by Maggie Stiefvater, Dirty Blood by Heather Hildebrand and anything written by Samantha Young Moon Spell (The Tale of Lunarmorte #1).

Would I/Did I buy it? Yes (.99)
Would I read it again? Yes
Would I recommend it to friends? YES!

(cross-posted from the blog Wading Through Electronic Ink)

I was very excited to get my advance review copy of Time Mends, both because it was my first ever ARC and because I loved Destiny Binds so much. And I am glad to say that it did not disappoint.

In Destiny Binds, the heroine Scout finds out that there are werewolves and other kinds of shifters, which is hard enough for anyone to accept. In Time Mends, the stakes are so much higher, and the challenges that Scout faces are even greater. But it is when a person faces adversity that you can find what they are really made of. In her darkest hours, Scout shines as a strong character whom you cannot help but admire.

Did I enjoy it as much as Destiny Binds? It is difficult to say for sure. The book made me laugh and care in the right places. And it stuck with me so much that I had a dream the next night about the characters.

The second installment of any trilogy always has some issues. It's generally the darkest point in the series, and it needs to lead into the third one. After the first one, I observed that I felt like things were more open-ended than I would have preferred. Time Mends ends with a gaping cliffhanger that makes me desperate to find out what happens in book 3.

In terms of negatives, I have promised no spoilers, so I don't want to go into too much detail, but the actions of one of the characters did not sit right with me. I kept waiting for it to be a cunning and elaborate plan, and that might still happen. But even now, thinking about it, I get a little bit of a pit in my stomach. Which is good, in that it demonstrates the emotional power of the book. But also bad in that I dislike having a pitty feeling in my stomach.

So the moral of the story is, go out and buy Time Mends. But, then, since I'm sure you already read Destiny Binds at my recommendation, you don't need me to tell you that any book of Tammy Blackwell's is likely to be a winner.
