Présentation de l'éditeur

The Messianic movement largely advocates that the Torah or Pentateuch is relevant instruction for Believers today, and that modern Christianity has too often ignored God’s revelation in the Tanach or Old Testament—not benefiting from this dismissal. Yet the subject of “Torah observance” can often be a point of contention, not only between the Messianic and Christian communities, but even internally among Messianics. Why is this the case? Do we have to be negative about this? Is it possible that people claiming to be Torah observant do not often know why the Law of Moses is to instruct and teach today’s Believers? Have some Messianics simply lacked an appropriate perspective on how the work of the Holy Spirit is to guide God’s people into greater holiness and maturity, given the promises of the New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34; Ezekiel 36:26-27)? How are we to balance how following the Torah includes outward practices, but also includes a greater manifestation of God’s love and goodness to all we encounter?

Torah In the Balance, Volume I is a well needed resource for our time, as it addresses the main aspects of how to follow God’s Torah. Subjects addressed include: why Believers need the Torah, the Acts 15 Jerusalem Council, the foundational importance of the Ten Commandments, the role of the appointed times, and the dietary laws. While Messianic positions on these aspects of faith can often clash with those of our Christian brothers and sisters, they are considered in a fair and reasonable way that encourages positive solutions between all people who have called out to Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) for salvation. A large amount of scholastic engagement and support is offered for the validity of these aspects of faith on the part of today’s Believers.

This book is an important addition to any Messianic library, and should be read by those desiring not only a comprehensive understanding regarding what the Lord has started in this hour—but the great responsibility we have been endowed by Him. With everything we have been called to do, the transforming power of God’s love is emphasized above all! This resource encourages growth and maturity on the part of all of His people.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 God inspired. A must read for all believers in Christ. 25 février 2012

In short, J.K. McKee is an excellent scholar and apologist who advocates Biblical truth for all believers today in a loving way. There is no condemnation here! This book is key for greater understanding between believers in Christ, both Christians and Messianics.

I'm a typical Protestant Christian that came to Christ at a young age and has loved the Lord for all of my adult life. As I've grown in my faith, there has been an ever growing uneasiness I've felt for how most Christians dismiss the God's laws given through Moses. I've always been taught that the Old Testament was good to study to know God's character, but that it was for the most part annulled or fulfilled by the cross and not for today's believers.

After almost two years of hard study, now I know that God's word insists differently. This book alone covers all the bases showing from scripture that the Torah is for all believers today. J.K. McKee does an outstanding job expressing the important spiritual and practical value of God's commandments (Old and New) for believers in Christ.

If you are Christian, I implore you to pick up this book. It will challenge your understanding of the Bible you have always read, but it will show you a harmony in scripture that God intended us all to find.

I have read several of John McKee's books and I find there is so much information that we as Messianic's and Christian's need to understand about our Hebraic roots. It is obvious that John's books are based on researched facts and proper origins of each study he takes on. We need solid teaching today more than ever. I would highly recommend any book or teaching that John McKee has done....simply put...outstanding scholar.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Yet another excellent title by J.K. McKee 16 avril 2013
Par R. Roy - Publié sur Amazon.com
J.K. McKee has established himself as one of a small handful of Messianic/Jewish/Hebrew-Roots scholars who has generated a solid body of balanced, scholarly work covering a broad range of topics -- and this title is no exception.

In it, Mr. McKee answers questions that many people have about the Messianic Movement in general -- in a way that is balanced and loving. His answers are sure to benefit not only those who are new to the Messianic Faith and seeking answers to their questions, but also those who have been at this for quite some time, and would like some well-founded answers to questions that others ask.

J.K. McKee's writing is not for the faint-hearted; however, his commentary is balanced and very well researched. I trust what he has to say to be biblically sound.
