Of coarse they sound the same, because they all sound BRUTAL! 3 mai 2009
Par C. M. Gillum - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: CD
Comedy is a rare but glorious find in Metal music. Few bands pull it off well and even less do it with talent (All of Devin Townsend's works comes to mind). Here we have Tim Lambesis of his far more popular band As I Lay Dying taking on ALL instruments and vocals with help from Chad Ackerman whom is a pro at impersonating Arnold Schwarzenegger. The outcome is a mixture of superb modern Thrash and some of the most hilarious vocals in the history of the genre.

Let's face it, "Ahnold" has been one of the easiest targets since his breakout role as Conan the Barbarian. But let's also face that impersonating the "Governator" has been an old stand up act since the early 90's. Mixing the hilarity of Arnold's lack of pronunciation with Metal that is accessible to a wide range of rock and metal fans is a completely new and creative spin on a classic punchline.

The music is rip roaring, straight forward Thrash with some more modern elements thrown in such as breakdowns, and Death-like growls/yells. The music is of excellent quality, but don't expect the greatest Thrash album ever. Theirs even some very well executed solo's through out the album and to be honest I am left impressed by Tim's well rounded knowledge of all the instruments showcased.

The album has seven tracks in total that are primarily Chad Ackerman impersonating Arnold and are easily the most hilarious aspects of the album. Theirs also some nice back and forth dialog between Chad and Tim on a couple of these 'spoken' tracks. Aside the 'spoken' tracks we have the actually lyrical content of the songs, some of these are just out right hilarious, here's an example..

Now we are going to do...
Something extremely fun (hwoww yeah!)
We're going to play... (let's play a game!)
a wonderful game called... Who is your daddy
Who is your daddy, and what does he do?

The overall effect of this album is simply fun, nothing extremely mind boggling in the music department, but certainly good quality music. The comedy aspect is extremely well done, flows well with the music and doesn't overtake the entire album. Overall I think this is possibly one of my favorite side projects by a metal musician ever, and I'm not even really a big fan of As I lay Dying.

Highly recommended to a wide array of Metal fans with an open mind and a good sense of humor. The only other album I can honestly consider similar is The Dethalbum by Dethklok. It uses Metal and Comedy in a similar sense yet still holds some quality musicianship. Thanks for reading, if my review was interesting please let me know but clicking 'Yes' below.

Pure Brutality 25 septembre 2009
Par Homer Griffin - Publié sur Amazon.com

I found out about cd in my receommendation section. I was like 'why hasn't anyone thought to do this before?' Well, these guys did. Or this guy rather. This reminds me of the Dethklok album which also was pretty much just one dude making all the music. Anyway, this is a delightful romp through fields of pure brutality. A little bit thrash, a little bit metalcore. I'm not a huge fan of Metalcore but it is enjoyable here. After all, it's Arnold! The only thing that was missing was a song about Ricter "see you at the party Ricter!" But I heard the new album that is coming out soon will have a Ricter song and a Bennet song. "Chill out Bennet!" Other than that this has just about every Arnold moment you could want in a album about Arnold.(Maybe there will be a song about Arnold carrying a child. I hope not but there would be chuckles all around if there was.
Anyway, this is a great album and fans of metal and/or Arnold will love it. It's a great buy if you like your metal hard and brutal.
P.s. Screw you! Screw you!Screw you Benny!
P.p.s. Was Arnold really pregnant in a movie? Who was the pothead that though that would make a good movie? Ok Im done.

Friggin hilarious, yet totally Rockin! 20 octobre 2008
Par Corey J. Watson - Publié sur Amazon.com

As is said on this CD, these guys are just fooling around but still rock harder than many bands out there that take themselves totally serious. It's blazing, heavy, loud, and entertaining on a humorous level. If you are one of those metalheads who's totally serious about everything, this is not for you. But, if you still manage to maintain a little sense of humor, you might just like it. After all, It's Totally Broooo-Talll!!!!

Totally Amazingly Brutal. Instead of overstating the obvious badassness of the album I would like to ask if there are any other metal bands like this, fast, talented, loud, versatile, aggressive, & "Brutal". The biggest reason for my admiration of this band is the fact that like punk most metal is to pretentious, they are way to serious about being "brutal" or "evil" its absurd and they never acknowledged this. To have a sense of humor and still be vary talented metal musicians is what I'm looking for.

Metal Head or Not, Everyone Should Own This 22 juillet 2008
Par Charles Negrini - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: CD
This cd, created by Tim Lambesis of As I Lay Dying is the ultimate tribute to the Governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger. This cd is packed with hilarious tracks including lines from classic Arnie films as lyrics. Heavy guitar riffs and solo's are included, and great drums. This cd is a must have for everyone, even if you don't like metal, because it is a very funny cd.
