Présentation de l'éditeur

For years, serious researchers have known that triangular-shaped UFOs are one of the most common types observed. The phenomenon has sparked intense debate among many and excited the imagination of many others. But until now, there has never been a book-length treatment of this fascinating subject.

Finally, we have one. David Marler has provided a comprehensive analysis of “the triangles.” He has collected, collated, and analyzed hundreds of reports. In the process, he has created a detailed profile of these objects and written a rich narrative of their history.

Marler is well-suited to the task, having at his disposal an enormous collection of newspaper archives, declassified military reports, UFO books and journals, and the transcripts of many first-hand interviews he has conducted. He has also received input from many prominent individuals from within the military, FAA, Aerospace, and UFO research field.

He tackles the arguments made by skeptics that dismiss these triangular UFO reports outright. He also address the claims of so-called insiders who claim these objects are a creation of the U.S. military.

The results of his years of research are documented in his book, Triangular UFOs: An Estimate of the Situation. It is a book that has long been needed, not only by the UFO research community, but the general public, as it opens up an entirely new discussion that has long been ignored: who is making the triangles?

Biographie de l'auteur

David Marler has had a lifelong interest in the subject of UFOs. He joined The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) in 1990 as a Field Investigator Trainee. Since then, he has served as Field Investigator, State Section Director, as well as Illinois State Director. David is currently an independent UFO researcher. During his tenure with MUFON, he had conducted numerous investigations into alleged UFO sightings and related experiences. He has discussed the subject of UFOs on numerous radio and television news programs. He has also lectured on the subject to various school and adult audiences over the years. David has assisted the History Channel, Learning Channel, and Discovery Channel on UFO documentaries in addition to independent productions. David has an extensive personal library of UFO books, journals, magazines, newspapers, and case files from around the world that covers the last 65 years. With this he has been examining the detailed history of UFO sighting reports and related patterns. David strives to have an open mind regarding the UFO phenomenon. However, he also acknowledges the need for a skeptical approach when examining each individual UFO report. Despite the large percentage of misidentifications and hoaxes in the UFO data, David recognizes what appears to be a core phenomenon beneath it all. David received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (SIUE). He received his Certification in Hypnotherapy from Mottin and Johnson Institute of Hypnosis in St. Louis, Missouri. David is a Registered Polysomnographic Technician (RPSGT) and assisted in diagnosing and treating patients that suffered from various sleep disorders for several years at a major St. Louis-based medical facility. He has worked within the medical field for fifteen years. David works for an international medical company and resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

David Marler's book on Triangular UFO's puts to rest any possible assertion that such craft do not exist. He has reviewed cases beginning decades ago, and demonstrates clearly that there is an unusual consistency in the reports. He has been able to develop a profile of the ten most significant characteristics of this particular subset of UFOs, and also includes another ten secondary indicators. Since reliable reports date from the 1950's and even earlier, secret black-box military craft allegedly developed in the 1990's and later are ruled out as an explanation. Marler is only interested in facts and observations, and does not delve into possible hypotheses of who or what is behind the triangles. Very wisely, he leaves that task to his colleagues, whose insights comprise the final chapter of the book. This is a very interesting, well-written and compelling read, providing a rational description of some very irrational phenomena.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 The new standard for UFO research is here 1 août 2013

If you are interested in UFO's and have been looking for a trusted source of information, David Marler's Triangular UFO's is a must read! My personal interest in triangular ufo's goes back many years, and I've devoted countless hours to researching on my own. If only Mr. Marler's book had been available when I started! He has pulled all the information anyone could want into one book, cross referencing sightings with their similarities in time, location and description. Some of the accounts were very familiar, some were not, which came as a surprise. I thought I'd looked everywhere, but David Marler has access to sources not easily found by the amateur. The familiar accounts were not the same old story, the meticulous research, corroborating evidence and documentation added a fascinating layer of new information to absorb. The sections covering the historical record were impossible to put down, and after building this foundation he carries you through to the present day. If you are already a serious student of the ufo phenomenon, you will appreciate this book for it's intense focus on credibility and sourcing. If you are new to this interest, make this your first book, then use it as a standard against which any other sources of information should be judged. I was a witness, so David Marler's book affects me on a personal level. In writing this, he stands with me and everyone who has ever had to take the harsh scorn and ridicule of disbelief in the most effective way.... by backing our claims with unassailable evidence.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 I you were to buy only one UFO book... 12 septembre 2013

If there is only one book you will be buying and reading out of the whole `crop' of UFO books that, for better and for worse, seem to be cropping up like frogs after a rain, TRIANGULAR UFOS by David Marler should be that singular volume.

The book is without precedent because no one else has bothered to take one shape-type of the reported unconventional flying object (UFO) types and examine it for defining characteristics, as Marler has done, in depth. That's much to his credit and a sure benefit to those of us who want to actually study UFOs. It seems appropriate to emphasize research designed to penetrate the UFO enigmas, and Marler's book takes a nice first step in the direction of examining the reports for initial insights into possible propulsion. The next step, beyond the author's excellent examination of anecdotes, should be studying genuine filmed images and recorded electronic emissions of flying triangles.

The study of unconventional flying objects has long needed the objective, highly thoughtful, and systematic analysis which Marler's work introduces to a field that has in recent decades become mired in very disparate approaches that are not only unproductive, but in some cases are very counter-productive in the context of eventual acceptance of UFO studies into mainstream physics and aerospace science.

Along with his gift of penetrating `trait analysis' [See, especially, chapter 7, Establishing a Profile.], the author thoroughly demolishes the myth that the class of triangular and quasi-triangular objects defined in his analysis could be `black project' vehicles. And Marler doesn't just provide abundant descriptive evidence that the class of evidence defined in his fascinating study constitute a group of vehicles unmatched by any terrestrially-sourced technology, he provides readers some examples that reveal state-of-the-art terrestrial technology as highly inferior by comparison. For example, on page 200, the author bolsters that conclusion with his highly appropriate reference from the Washington Post of August 15, 2012, headed "Hypersonic craft X-51A fails latest test." That `Waverider' aircraft had to be launched from a B-52 bomber, incorporated a scramjet combustion engine (producing a fairly conventional looking effect-trail behind it), and the flight had to be quickly scrapped due to a problem with a control surface.

Fortunately for the objective, thoughtful reader, the clear-minded Marler isn't fooled for a minute by the disinformation-spinning internet geeks pounding computer keys in a fantasy froth about secret governments and expensive, gigantic, propulsion-exotic `black project' craft flying all over the planet for decades now, on undefined mysterious missions that would seem to have no higher purpose that to convince the public that they must me extraterrestrial technology.

So, for readers who want a breath of clear-minded fresh air, David Marler has provided a sterling example of intelligent, discerning discussion of one specific UFO shape class, while providing us a catalog of many fascinating accounts of triangular objects as described in world-wide sighting reports, and some important details suggesting highly exotic propulsion and extreme performance capabilities.

If you are seriously interested in learning about triangular UFOs, presented in a commendably thoughtful and organized way, in David Marler's precedent-setting book you will not only have the pleasure of discovery and learning how the same unique features repeat themselves in sighting after sighting (repetition is vital to scientific acceptance), worldwide, but you will also hold in your hand a reference book of a vast number of triangular-object cases unavailable in any other single source.

Those recommendations are not made lightly, and, no, David Marler is not someone I personally know, except for one telephone conversation. But the intelligence and clear-thought of his very-well-informed estimate of the triangular object situation reveal the book as an excellent and important contribution to UFO studies.

Some readers will recognize me as the person who literally wrote the book on the important Socorro, New Mexico, close encounter of the third kind, published in 1976. I'm a veteran of very active UFO research, having begun very naively as a teen in 1953, but later very seriously using optical and electronic instruments, continuing through to this very day. Hopefully, 60 years of UFO studies may add some credibility to my assessment of Marler's book as unique, important to research, and for its pointing in the direction of careful detail-analysis in future UFO studies.

In UFO literature, highly significant facts have hitherto been ignored, because UFO writers often focus only what they feel might convince readers of extraterrestrial visitation, instead of objectively just analyzing what observed or filmed objects and phenomena might tell us that could conceivably be meaningful to physics and, hopefully, to aerospace technology.

Fortunately, David Marler has not made that mistake, because he establishes an important profile of morphological, luminous, and kinetic characteristics of triangular objects and their surrounding atmosphere, that should be examined earnestly by anyone professing serious interest in the subject of unconventional flying objects.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Rational, compelling, important 31 juillet 2013

"Triangular UFOs: An Estimate of the Situation" is a ground-breakng compilation of many reports of large, silent triangular UFOs now seen by thousands or maybe millions of people all over the world. My own interest is based on hearing reports of such UFOs from 3 different friends whose integrity and objectivity I trust. I have no doubt are telling me exactly what they saw. The author gives a strong case that they are not secret military projects, at least in their entirety, as similar objects have been seen even in the 1880s.

When my cousin and his wife saw one right over their house in California about 1994, they felt no fear. However, one of the stories in the book was associated with an abduction by Greys of a young English lady. Time will tell more about the origin and purpose of these craft. It seems very important that we find out, and this book is an important step in that direction and an excellent "briefing" document for anyone.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 THEY Are Here, But Why? 10 août 2013
Par Always Seeking - Publié sur Amazon.com

The book is excellent in establishing the reality of the Triangular Vehicles and their mysterious operations. But for what purpose?
I have friends that were/are USAF pilots and also workers on USAF Bases. They have stated without hesitation that they have witnessed such craft up close and at great distances. They also state without hesitiation that whatever THEY are, it does't belong to human-beings. They are simply told to "let it go" in one way or another by their Commanding Officers.

What is clear is that we as a race of intelligent life-forms, are in no way the masters of our domain. We are under observation and one would assume, some type of control. Because whatever controls these things have a much bigger hand to play in our daily going-ons than we are ready to admit or confront. Period.
