Boy, Was This A Major Update!! 2 août 2013
Par L. Kramberg - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché Achat vérifié
When Len Testa said that there were to be major updates in what many of us consider to be the best guide (official or unofficial), that turned out to be an understatement. I only listed the "new" parts to the 2014 edition, but there are many more updates to the other sections as well. Here are most of the new items:

Coverage of Disney's new My Disney Experience website,
* New strategies for "park-hopping" (visiting more than one park per day).
* A new, detailed section on Disney's new RFID-enabled MagicBand wristbands
* A new, detailed section on Fastpass
* Our new list of the best Disney-specialist travel agents.
* Complete rewrites of the reviews for Universal's Hard Rock Hotel, Portofino Bay and Royal Pacific hotels, plus a look at the Cabana Bay resort scheduled to open in 2014.
* A review of the new Senses Spa at Disney's Grand Floridian resort. (
* A new review of the Waldorf Astoria Spa.
* A new section on cruising with kids
* A new overview of Disney's staterooms
* New stroller company recommendations and price comparisons with Disney's strollers.
* A simplified, comprehensive chart of where to meet characters for free in each of the parks.
* A new section on how to find the best rental car discounts. An updated section on how Advance Dining Reservations work, including new advice for speeding through Disney's online dining reservation system for hard-to-get reservations at Be Our Guest and Cinderella's Royal Table.
* New reviews of the Magic Kingdom's counter-service lunch and sit-down dinner at Be Our Guest.
* New "Author's Favorite Counter-Service Restaurants" for the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom.
* New review of Les Halles Boulangerie & Patisserie at Epcot's France pavilion.
* New review of L'Artisan des Glaces Artisan Ice Cream & Sorbet at Epcot's France pavilion.
* New review of Gaston's Tavern at the Magic Kingdom.
* A preview of Morocco's Spice Road Table restaurant set to open in late 2013.
* A new review of the food at the Splitsville bowling alley in Downtown Disney.
* A new review of Monsieur Paul at Epcot's France pavilion.
* An update on the Fantasyland expansion construction, including the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train opening in 2014.
* A description of Fastpass loopholes found at the Magic Kingdom, including which attractions participate and how to take advantage of them.
* New review of A Pirates Adventure interactive game in Adventureland.
* A description of the new queue effects at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
* A new description of Fantasyland's updated layout, including theming, restroom and phone charging locations.
* New review for Ariel's Grotto.
* New review for the Casey Jr. Splash `n' Soak Station.
* New review for Enchanted Tales with Belle, including how to avoid long lines.
* New review of Pete's Silly Sideshow character greetings, including the best times to go.
* New review of Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid, including when to go.
* A summary of how Fastpass+ may change the best viewing locations for parades and fireworks.
* Many new Jim Hill anecdotes.
* New review of Chevrolet's Test Track ride and pavilion, including best times to visit.
* A re-review of Captain EO.
* News on Festival of the Lion King's move from Camp Minnie-Mickey to Africa.
* New review of Adventurer's Outpost character greeting.
* New review of Wilderness Explorers interactive scavenger hunt.
* Fastpass.
* Tips on how to get your children signed up for the popular Jedi Training Academy shows.
* A new review for The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow.
* A new section on the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. Our Beyond Disney title has more expansive coverage of Universal Orlando.
* New section on lodging at UOR.

I'm looking forward to getting my copy next week for our trip next year. Anal retentives like me need time to plan.

P.S. - Don't forget to check out AllEars.Net for the best online info and consider subscribing to TouringPlans.Com. And if you do book a trip through Disney, register at My Disney Experience. Hope this helps.

For first time visitors or regulars to learn what changed since last visit, although touring plans alone enough reason to buy it 9 septembre 2013
Par Denis Vukosav - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
I like to plan all my vacations ahead organizing the whole journey, and not using travel agencies, to be able to see and experience as much as possible. Due to that I like different kinds of guides who are full of practical information that help visitor, whether if it's for the first time or several times visited location.

Also, I learned that unofficial guides are usually better than the official ones, given that they aren't burdened with what they have to write, but include what are for passengers and visitors the most important and useful information.

One of such excellent guides is this one that let you learn everything you need for visiting Walt Disney World and plan your perfect vacation whether for a day or several of them. Taking into account that Walt Disney World occupies a large area and has so many interesting things to do, it is really must-have to have a guide of some kind. And this guide will be recommended one from me, based on my own experience with previous editions but also with this one that is seriously updated from the previous release.

You'll find information about transportation, accommodation and food, and of course lot of detailed information about the main and not so famous attractions you can find inside all the parks. For me the best part about this unofficial guide is their honesty, because the authors can afford to be honest when they critically speak about some attraction that doesn't live up to their own expectations. Maybe that will not be case for you but you'll get some warning ahead, up to each reader to judge herself/himself.

Also one of the best things you can find inside the book are presentations of the touring plans made for different scenarios based on planned days, number of people who are visiting and visitor type (young, parents, adults...). They describe in detail when and where to show up and in which order to go around the attractions to be able to see and feel maximum, reducing the waiting time as much as possible. I used it for couple of times and they are mostly useful.

As mentioned earlier, this edition is quite updated from the previous ones, and given that the update details would took away several pages I can only say that it's definitely recommended to get the new version if you have an older one.
For me the most important additions were new strategies for visiting more parks in one day, a description of Fastpass loopholes that can be found at the Magic Kingdom, a new section about Fastpass with more details, a new section about cruising with kids and an useful chart of where to meet characters for free in each park.

If for no other reason this guide should be purchased only because of the touring plans, but be sure that you'll spend using it unforgettable time in the park and that those who have visited without it won't believe when you tell them how much you were able to see.

I fully recommend this guide for first time visitors or for regulars who'll able to learn what changed since their last visit.

Don't plan a trip to Disney World without getting and reading this book 8 octobre 2013
Par Ben Pizzini - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Format Kindle Achat vérifié
This is an interesting entertaining and informative book. Cannot say enough good things about this book. This is a must for anyone planning a trip to Walt Disney World (along with Touringplans.com). This book is on the your side, not Disney's, it breaks down the rides and explains how they appeal to all age groups. They also review the restaurants, hotels (both in and out of the World), and all of this with a sense of humor, that lends to the enjoyment of the book.
They are also not afraid to provide opinions and comments of readers that disagree with them.

Important to know that you do not need to read the book cover to cover, but just read the sections that are important to you.

I am planning a 2015 trip (originally going for 2014 but had to change plans) I've been to Disney once but this book really offers so much useful information. I would really recommend this book to anyone planning a trip to Disney. The hotel information is really valuable and I enjoyed the rating system.
