There, Darren makes friends with the snake-boy, Evra Von (who knows what Darren is) and a local boy, Sam, and RV, an eco-warrior and animal lover (who do not). Darren begins to enjoy his life among the Cirque performers as the youngest half-vampire in existence, but he defiantly refuses to drink human blood -- the whole idea sickens him -- and he tries desperately to cling on to the part of him which is human. TUNNELS OF BLOOD When Mr Crepsley is called upon by the Vampire Generals, Darren and the snake-boy, Evra Von, leave the Cirque Du Freak and travel with him to the city. Whilst there, Darren meets Debbie and his life as a Vampire's Assistant fades into the background -- until corpes are found. Corpses drained of blood! Suspicious of Mr Crepsley's secretive bahaviour, Darren and Evra shadow him across the city and confront a creature of the night who may be the end of them all!

This trilogy was very good. Bought to read before seeing movie.Am going to get the others. My grandson and husband are reading it.

Um, this is Annes daughter speaking, personally I am in love with this book series. The writing is perfect, just the right amount of dialog or detail and I love all the characters! So far the plot has been very interesting too! I would advise anyone with just a remote interest in horror(it's not really scary or anything but there is some gore I geuss...) to read it. I think it's especially good for kids ages 12 to 16 though. and no, just incase your a guy this is not a paranormal romance just cause it has vampires! >:(

Picked this up after seeing the movie, hoping the book would be better. For most things it was, for others not so much. I purchased all four triology sets and since i don't want to go book by book i'm putting this together. Darren was an interesting character. It was a weird universe if not a little dire and painful. However the more i progressed through the series things just got weirder and weirder. By the time i finished the last set of books i nearly regretted picking them up at all. Still as far as books go, it's different and maybe i just took the ending too harshly. It had a bit of a stephen king Dark Tower ending. So it - well the whole set gets three stars. would have been higher if the ending hadn't pissed me off.
