5.0 étoiles sur 5 Loved both! 18 avril 2011

I know, the plot sounds super cheesy and campy, well, it is. But in the best of ways! The team behind Vampire Cheerleaders did everything right, they embraced the absurdity of it all and turned it into something hilarious. Instead of making it so ridiculous that it's annoying, they made it fun, which earns them 100 awesome points. I have to give major props to the illustrators who nailed every facial expression, every hilarious chibi moment and for making cartoons so damn sexy. It's fantastic!

An added bonus is that Vampire Cheerleaders Vol. 1 is actually a double feature, the first half is the story of the cheerleaders, the second is an entirely different comic titled Paranormal Mystery Squad. Each comic is highly entertaining, yet very different from one another. While humorous, Paranormal Mystery Squad is a bit more serious and more action-packed than Vampire Cheerleaders.

This comic definitely isn't for everyone (totally not kid-friendly), but if you dig dirty raunchy fun in manga form then I highly suggest picking up a copy of Vampire Cheerleaders Vol. 1.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 two for the price of one 24 mars 2011

There are actually two separate comics in this book. The first being the title story Vampire Cheerleaders. When Candice is staked squad A is missing its fifth team mate and choose to hold try out from squad B. Leonard tries to warn Heather not to try out she won't listen and end up the teams fifth vampire as a result. With a pair of overbearing parents that kept her pure as a mortal, Heather become a wild child of a vampire with blood disguise as Mountain Dew code red and plenty of sunscreen on her body. When Heather breaks rule one of not feeding on members of the school it up to rest of the squad to figure out a way to try to save the game for their school.

The second comic remind me a little of Cartoon Network show Secret Saturdays. Its called Paranormal Mystery Squad. Goth girl Stephanie Kane battles Cryptds with a sword and the help of her witch friend Charlotte and bratty sister Katie. Katie is turned into a Cryptd herself when bitten by a were wolf. She may mentally be herself but has trouble control of her transformations. When the government wants to monitor them they force Stephanie to take in their own vampire Cryptd to watch over their actions.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Very Good.. 17 avril 2011

This book is very good. But then again it has it's flaws like any other manga. It has language not suitable for most children (but then again who doesn't know most bad language by now..) and instead of the whole book being about "Vampire Cheerleaders" the other half of the book is a different story, which has nothing to do with the cover what so ever. I hate that..since we have to wait until december for the next volume, while the whole first volume isn't enough to satisfy me. That is why I gave this book four stars.
