full-size waterproof city map8 septembre 2012

Not all ITM maps are waterproof, but the Vancouver map is one that is. The waterproof ones will have the 'waterproof' logo in the upper right of the front cover. They look and feel like paper but are plastic. National Geographic Destination city maps and Rough Guides city maps are also made of plastic, but are about half the size. And of course there are laminated paper maps out there but those are usually only water-resistant.
The ITM Vancouver map shows the Greater Vancouver Area on one side (Vancouver and the nearest adjacent cities). The other side focuses on Vancouver proper, with a closeup of Downtown. There is a legend on both sides, an index, and an 'Index Of Points Of Interest' which lists the locations of the main tourist destinations. There is no 'zoomed-out' regional section...even a small one would have been useful.
This map is probably more detailed overall than the Destinations and Rough Guides maps, but only because it's bigger; detail per square inch is roughly similar. Many tiny roads are shown but not named. It can't match a full-size Rand McNally or MapArt paper map for overall detail. But those won't last very long when wet :). This is less of a fun tourist map, more of a dry, serious driving map.
