Descriptions du produit

Meet Venus, the puppy with a big heart and loud bark, who takes life on the chin. In this book, Venus tells in her own voice of the adventures, battles and joys of her puppyhood, and shares the wisdom that she receives from her angel. Venus is psychic, sensitive and ruthlessly honest. Her diary is rich with vivid characters, whose stories she shares. Her best friend is her owner, Mum. Venus and Mum are devoted to each other, and together they learn a great deal about life, spiritual truths and the invisible worlds. Living in the same house are Ash-ting, the little grey kitten who brings a new understanding of unconditional love and harmony, and Wallace, a miniature schnauzer whose kidnap by gypsies unites everyone in the house in their endeavours to rescue him. Venus' best friends are Dolly the fearless Chihuahua; Skye, the perfect Collie; and Sugar, the amenable puppy. There is also the huge Alsatian, Michael, with whom Venus falls in love.

Must Meet Venus!!! 23 août 2014
Par Coomi Vevaina - Publié sur
Format: Format Kindle
Talking animals are not new to literature but Diana Cooper’s Venus. A Diary of a puppy and her angel is perhaps the most charming book in the genre in recent years. The flow of the narrative is so easy and graceful that it is hard to put down before reading from cover to cover.
The book makes us realize that the emotional and spiritual life of animals is not very different from that of humans. Both display petulance and rebellion under certain circumstances and nobility and generosity under other. However, unlike most humans who are locked within the left hemisphere of the brain, Venus (like other animals) fearlessly explores her spirituality and gives us snippets of her delightful conversations with her Guardian Angel and ‘Mum’ who is without a shade of doubt, the love of her life. Her relationship with Mum is so warm and funny that though we would love to own the spirited puppy, we realize that she really belongs to Mum, the pesky kitten Ash-ting and her friends.
Venus’ story is likely to be reassuring to children who feel bewildered by the zeal with which the so-called ‘sensible’ adults around them insist on denying and lopping off the spiritual knowledge and wisdom they are born with. The Stephen Leacock-like humour in the book makes it a superb read for adult readers and particularly for those who love animals and care for them. We may put the book away once we have finished reading the last page but soon realize that Venus has carved a tiny niche in our heart and will remain there permanently.

I think it is a good book for children and adults explaining what your guardian angels can do for you and other angels as well, also it makes you take a closer look at animals and how surprising they are you will never look at your animal the same again or your surroundings and your thoughts whether they be negative or positive.

I totally enjoyed reading this book. I have been a student of metaphysics for years and I do animal rescue. This book combines these two interests and brought much understanding of the animals in my life. Thank you for writing this book.

As a dog lover I loved Diana Cooper's book Venus. The life lessons were beautifully included in the story making it very rewarding and entertaining reading. I would like her to write more books about Venus.

A beautiful story for a young person but I throughly enjoyed reading and could relate to a lot of the happenings.
